Yeah bro, and Mein Kampf was totally taken out of context.....

For the record, all this bullshit about being a victim for actually looking a bit deeper into a commercial and seeing the racial bias is kinda rediculous. Like people aren't allowed to have an opinion anymore. Talk about blowing things out of proportion.

    Interesting thread.

The commercial did exactly what it was suppose to do.....get people to buy pepsi and stir debate.

There's no such thing as bad publicity.

I was thinking the exact same thing.

    Yep. Anybody could've seen that.

    That's just cold.:smt005

After I saw the commercial, I was wishing that I was the one who had written it. That's exactly what I would've come up with and the direction I would've gone.

Wow.:smt042 And why did his wife look more masculine than he did???

    Exactly!!!:smt045

Sad but often true, I have heard every thing a black man has been called

    Deadbeat
    Lazy
    No Good
    No Ambition
    Uneducated
    Thugs
    Criminals
    Drug Dealers
    Womanizers

and the list can go on and on. Yet it has never bothered me for 1 second because I know that is not my nature as a black man. So I could care less about how black men are cast. Shit has been a bitch for centuries in America. Am I suppose to lose sleep. Hell no. :)

Yep, pretty much nailed it bro. Especially when you are a mega fortune 500 company entrenched in the global culture. Trust me Pepsi Co. isn't losing sleep, they want to be talked about.

I'm Late 2 The Party But...

In all honesty in what I just told a friend, the first thing that stuck out to me was the violence against her husband! After that well yeah I can see the ad being controversial in so many ways with the white girl being involved & then getting hit by the black wife & then having them both run away seemingly BEFORE the Po-Pos come! Sexual & racial overtones are all over this ad IMO!

yeah....but the media hasnt really said anything about it....you know when they really review the ads after the superbowl...and no one really pointed it out.

Now if it was a white couple and a white girl ....then would we be talking about this as far as what you are saying ?

    WTF?

I hate when I hear those words....

No one wants to try and handle anyone. Either you get along with someone or you don't.

Can you handle a strong independent BW?

racist site caught on to the Super Bowl Ads three days after the game, on February 9th. It appears as if there are some mixed reactions within the posters. Type in .org in place of the ***.

they talked about this on TVONE roland martin. he defended the ad but a woman who wrote a book called Black Woman Redefined: Dispelling Myths
and Discovering Fulfillment in the Age of Michelle Obama tried to say it was playing into the stereotypes
