I don't hate Eminem, but he has such a bothering voice, kinda like Lil Wayne. I'd kick them in the face after 5 minutes. LOL

I got a feeling you are a TROLL

I know there are some brothers that listen to BOB but he isn't that important IMO. John Lennon was way more important than BOB..

Also it's most not must important..Dummy

Proof of what are you asking for? If Bob Dylan is one of the most influential musicians in the past 100 years? If he's top 100 most influential musicians?

No proof that he was the first to ever rap

I don't want my IQ to be lowered so I'm just gonna ignore you. bye

It's something you just have to gather over time, can't be easily explained in one post but I'll try...

Bob Dylan was the one who inspired John Lennon to take his music seriously and from there he went on to make the best Beatles album.
One of Jimi Hendrix most famous songs(All along the watchtower) was a cover of a Dylan song.
Those are two big and obvious choices but if you listen to music from that era he influenced nearly everyone.
There's music before Bob Dylan and there's music after, he changed it forever. Plain and simple.

You wanna talk about Tupac and how he spoke about black culture? Bob Dylan has him beat for miles.

Before Tupac was even born Dylan wrote "Blowin' in the wind" which became an athem for the Civil Rights movement.
He also wrote songs about Emmet Till and Rubin "Hurricane" Carter.

Years before Tupac was doing whatever he was doing......Bob Dylan was there protesting against racism and playing his songs at rallies.

He started a folk movement, had everyone tunned in and paying attention to him. Then once he got tired he left it all behind and started a counter-culture rock revolution.

You know those guys who go against popular culture? Like the guys who make music and say things like "we don't want to be famous" or "we're not going with whats popular, we're gonna do our own thing".
Dylan was the original to do that.

Tons of other things also, I can't really explain it to you. Gotta find out on your own.

    umm no...

Without Bob Dylan, John Lennon would have kept making songs like "I wanna hold your hand" and "She loves you". He would've never moved on to serious music.

John Lennon admitted that, but I'm guessing you're gonna need proof...

Paul McCartney even said of Like a Rolling Stone "He showed all of us that it was possible to go a little further"

I was thinking KC and the Sunshine Band - Boogie Man - 1976

    or Blonde0 - Rapture: 1981, but Dylan?

    Dylan?

Regardless....neither of the above was the first to rap...

And the only reason Blonde gets a mention because it was the first group to hit the charts using what we now call "rap"

...still I wouldn't say Dylan. Rap (speaking in rhythmic tones over a steady beat) actually came from the stanzas of old negro slave tones.

Which is why I respect him even more.

    Here's an analogy for you....

It's one thing to be in a interracial relationship and come to this site. It's another thing to be white guy married to a white girl and come here just to show your support.

Dylan could've stayed in his own world but he decided to support a movement that had nothing specific to do with him.

Besides, most black people in the country now haven't dealt with any serious hardships because they're black.

What I'm trippin' about now is that you give Dylan credit from the folk music movement. AND gave credit to Dylan for rap, which came from slaves, which came from Africa....

...and your explanation did nothing to explain your idiot statement.

I can see that argument if you consider that rap.

    Good point
