    State of the Union?

Lets talk about the issues, what worries you about the president? What makes you put trust in him? :smt024
What laws would you put in place and or take out?

I would be happy if Obama came out and said "We're fucked and there's nothing that can be done about it."

And does John Boehner sleep in a tanning bed?

The State of the Union isn't over yet. We still have to listen to Paul Ryan and Michelle Bachmann speak as well.

    But to answer your questions:

    1. I'm not too worried about the President, since he seems to be safe. The only thing I'm concerned is that the GOP controlled House will screw over him ultimately with their policies which, for the most part, failed the country.

    2. I trust that he can do whatever he can to turn the tides and make this country better. We have seen steady improvement, albeit slow. However, much work has to be done.

    3. As a staunch liberal on social policies, I'd say the following needs to be done:

    - Re-introduce the Public Option so that there won't be a mandated health-care system and would benefit the people.

    - Legalize Marijuana to help bolster the economy.

    - Either eliminate federal recognition of marriage on religious grounds and make the federal government recognize civil unions and domestic partnerships regardless of sexual orientation, race, or creed, etc. across the nation.

    - Advance our infrastructure. As a structural engineer, we need to invest $3.6 trillion dollars to modernize or bring our structures up-to-date.

These are just a few examples.

Hahaha, we've been through shit like this before. I think you mean it requires major sacrifices like Jerry Brown's deep cuts.

Listening to Michelle Bachmann is the reason why education is so low. She's created a lot of BS and lies.

I watched it and though it was a good speech. I hope it translates into good actions.

And I wish Michelle Bachmann's tongue would rot and fall out of her head.

And the problem is what again...?

In times like this, talking means nothing. The events which unfolded only temporarily brought people together. After this come to past, it will be back to business. I know this is sort of a repeat of the Clinton-era politics, but unlike the 90s when the internet boom came about, there's a lot of work to be done. If Obama gets re-elected, call it a major feat. Then again, maybe it won't be that bad.

    "preempted The Good Wife..."

That should bear no relevance. The whole thing is about what can all branches of government can do to work together without too much mudslinging.

Your number 2: There has been some improvement and there does need a lot to be done. But too, the work that has been done isn't always easy to see considering everything else we have to wade through to make it through our days.
Your number 3: Sections: Anything that's for the people, that's what we need is going to take a lot of work to get there. Now if the people in the seats that the people voted for would do their damn jobs and remember us little people we'd already have good health care.
Now one congrass woman that freaking gets me damn upset, Senator Gregorie. That woman needs to shut up and stop cutting stuff for the children and all the people that need what she wants to "change".
(breath in, breath out, breath in, breath out)

    Where was I? Oh yea.

    - Legalize Marijuana to help bolster the economy.

That can be good and bad. :smt038

You know what, I love your thinking, it's making me get excited about the issues that leads to talking about being able to talk about anything.
It's the stimulation that gets me excited:D

Any other ones have thoughts about the issues?
