I was watching the Golden Globes last week and they cut to a shot of her in the audience and I was like I thought we were through with her.

 

You're spot on about that movie "The Help" - the obsession with unattractive/fat black actresses. But back to Queen Kong, what the hell has she done since Precious? Okay, she's doing a movie w/Eddie Murphy, but if she was the next "Big Superstar", why hasn't she been in anything else?

 

The women don't have a problem with it, just the men, and goodlove can only get the peace he wants if he addresses whatever issues are making them leave. His explanation of the BW locker room thread being a compliment was bullshit, and if he believes like you that the lockerroom is a private area, then I don't see a how any thread, much less a thread about a group of non white women, is somehow complimentary.

Well, I've already given my opinion on this, I don't like the threads, but I think and will argue for them to stay, and on another personal note I've been rather vocal about the Asian women thread, and relatively mum about the Black women thread, so the hypocrisy with regards to that can't be applied to me.

Just plain slander, man! There are some BM on here who equate exclusively being with/liking white women as form of self-hatred and repudiation of Black people, and Black women in general. That Malcom X/Uncle Ruckus dichotomy is simple nonsense.

The men who have a problem with the non white women threads do so for a number of reasons, and those men probably have different opinions on Black women (just like those who might not have a problem or like the threads).

 

I've previously said as a BM that I only date WW. So I wish a muthafucka would.

Funny how this thread is in the section: "the attraction between white women and black men" and we’re needlessly spending more time talking about black women. Either we forgot where we came from or we’ve forgotten why we’re really even here.

It's amazing how it's usually "one subject in particular" that causes e-beefs, drama, and constant nagging here on the forum. Perhaps we should spend more time talking about WW and our attraction to them as opposed to trashing ANY group of women.

Petty, the discussion was never about women being offended by the threads. As far as I know, noone really is.

The discussion was about GLs statement that posting pictures of bw is a compliment to ww That was all it was. I dont know how you got to women being offended by it as that was never the discussion and its not the case.

again: It was about Gls post that posting pictures of bw is a compliment to white women.

 

Telling a BW you are regular member on whitewomenblackmen.com just might do the trick.

Go on a Black forum, whether it's a male driven forum like afieldnegro or a female one like BV. You will see Black men trash Black women, they say similar and ten times worse than ever gets said on here. But the minute a BM is with, let alone exclusive with WW, discussion of BW is off limits and a form of self hatred, yet the dudes up under Black women are talking negative shit about them, but somehow they are not called self-hating; maybe they are even called proud. If some of the WW left because they don't want to take part in some of the negative trash dialogue that goes on between black men and women on some forums, I don't blame them.

With respect to this issue, because I am not helping in keeping this specific to the issues the women have. I think ESPY not being a regular makes it seem like less women, a few of the new women that signed up are not posting on a regular, and we are getting more new male posters than female and as jordan said, some of the disrespectful dialogue.

That is exactly what it was about, nothing more. I suspect you hasve not carefully read what was said from the beginning. That WAS the exact topic, but if you pay attention, GL is the one that keeps veering away from it - not his opponents.


The only women that chimed in was me and Tam and we both have stated more than once in this thread that we are not offended by these threads, why would I be?

Then GL got really defensive and started shooting in all kind of topic directions in a childish attempt to deflect from the topic, out of sheer frustration Im sure.

He went to discussing bm dating ww exclusively/self hate/hating bw, even went as far as saying that ww on this board are dissing bw etc - which is not only taken from thin air but is very offensive. It go really weird and thats where the discussion derailed.

Go back to look at where its started and youll see..
Noone has stated they are offended by the threads, some question the appropriateness, but no one is offended...

but the issue me, Tam, Karma and XOXO and others had was ONLY that posting pictures of bw is not a compliment to ww as GL seem to insist. Thats just silly.

 

Yes, YMRA is correct, at least with the men, while I did call GL specifically on that BS statement. This discussion of non white women has sorta been an issue with men that just came to a head on this thread. I'm partly, if not fully responsible for that in this case. GL on the other hand has not brought anything constructive to the thread he started, that compliment thing really took the cake, we haven't really discussed why the women have left, are not posting, or not signing up, or the disrespect many of you have mentioned.
