Im tired of the misconception that latinos are the biggest minority in the states. Latinos are the biggest ethnic minority group (well thats how the government puts it, I think its pure horsehit. I mean if latinos get grouped together because they speak a romance language, then shouldnt black americans, white americans, etc get grouped together because we speak a germanic language), they are not the biggest racial minority in the states. African Americans still are the biggest racial ethnic group in the states. The news and media would make you believe that black folks are just dying off in astronomical numbers and thats bs.

Between African Americans and other black ethnic groups (with the exception of afro latinos) the black population will always stay at a sufficient number.

Another thing that irks me is when people use racial/ethnic/nationality terminology incorrectly. I swear if I hear another ignorant cholo or nuyorican proclaim to be Spanish I swear I might lose it. That shit irks me hella, and another thing that irks me is when white folks refer to another person as being ethnic. WTF is ethnic, isnt everybody ethnic one way or another.... People have all these stupid ways to solve racism (it will more than likely will never be completly obliterated), there is only one way to take care of racism and thats through education, not through pity parties etc for minorities. The problem with most people I feel like, is they either a.) Are to lazy to learn about other cultures. b.)They're too stuck in their own ways to take in someone elses background. or c.) All of the above.

I feel like its ignorant to say all Americans are ignorant about other cultures, but at the same time I see why we are the worlds laughing stock when it comes down to being globally informed. My generation sucks ass in those regards, theres too many little shits worried about what was going through Justin Bieber mind when he said this verse or what was Beyonce doing at blah blah blah. The media can be good, but at the same time it can be used by the powers that be, to distract people from the "real issues".

People really need to step their shit up.

Sorry for the rant, just needed to vent.

No I used it in a different context. What I hate is when I hear white people (People in general but to make my case clearer Im using white folks) call people who are non white or are not "traditionally" considered white in this country ethnic. Like Ive seen some white friends of mine say just because someone has brown skin that, that makes them "ethnic". Its as if non white = ethnic to them and thats just really ignorant. Everybody is ethnic whether they are white or non white.

I agree, ALL of have an ethnicity, therefore - ethnic - but as the white European group is larger than the African American population - I took your bolded statement as either erroneous or you using "ethnic" in they way you didnt intend to.

Away from the nitpicking; I always found it weird that whites use it as if white is the norm and everything else is "ethic" - I dont get that.

Yeah, you definitely want to get that checked out, Bookie. Thyroid issues are hell to go through. I hope they get it straightened out pretty quickly for you. :)

Things went somewhat okay for my son meeting his girlfriend's dad last night. It was obvious he wasn't too thrilled about his daughter dating him, but he didn't make an issue of it or get ugly with my son. That's one hurdle overcome; my son hopes her dad will warm up to him soon, though. I hope so, too.

My mom and g-ma both have Graves. Me Hashimoto's. So when my symptoms of thyroid appeared and the first test came up normal they did more extensive tests. I think if you have a family history chances are they are going to believe your symptoms enough to not tell you it's in your head.
