If she did, I didn't find it when I was digging & searching...the only one I found was about folks sharing their own art. Sorry if I stepped on your toes, Persephone...I did search to see if one like this had been done, & I didn't find anything. Mary Cassatt is/was awesome & I'm a big fan of Georgia O'Keeffe, too.
I love Wassily Kandinsky. I have a copy of this painting in my office. It's a poster that's traveled with me for probably 15 years- so it's a little worn, but I love it. I always said that if someone wanted a unique wedding gift for me (should it ever happen), I'd want a decent, framed copy of this. This is another artist I stumbled upon recently. Leonid Afremov. I love his stuff!
She's an artist. Her thread was about her own artwork and those others on the board who do art. :smt023
I made one forever ago about art. lol I dunno if that's the one Kushton is remembering, though, cause the one I made was when I was new back in the day. They're just threads! My toes are fine. lol I'm happy to see a thread about art with actual postings in it, honestly! Like I said, my stuff tends to not take off. lol
The Donation of Constantine, by Gianfrancesco Penni or Giulio Romano Just shows what you can do if you have a good teacher. This was made by Raphael's assistants. It still boggles my mind how such beautiful images could be created with such simple pigment. If the old masters (and their assistants) had the paint we have today...wow. I just wonder what it would be like, though the first thought is "magnificent".
That's good to know...I know everyone gets tired of duplicate threads, & I didn't want to irritate anyone by making a duplicate...lol. I love the amazing details in this piece. I agree...if they'd had what exists today, it'd be mind-blowing.
Yeah, I think it's gorgeous. It makes you wonder how people come up with the things they do doesn't it...lol. The colors are beautiful though.
For my friend, who reminded me that Dali deserves some appreciation, too. And my favorite Dali piece, Burning Giraffe
