WASHINGTON – The Obama administration on Friday ended a high-tech border fence project that cost taxpayers nearly $1 billion but did little to improve security. Congress ordered the high-tech fence along the border with Mexico in 2006 amid a clamor over the porous border, but it yielded only 53 miles of protection. Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano said the lesson of the multimillion-dollar program is there is no "one-size-fits-all" solution for border security. Napolitano said the department's new technology strategy for securing the border is to use existing, proven technology tailored to the distinct terrain and population density of each region of the nearly 2,000-mile U.S-Mexico border. That would provide faster technology deployment, better coverage and more bang for the buck, she said.
Those clowns in Washington do not want to secure the border. Too much money and potential voters is at stake. They will find any excuse not to enforce the border. What we are seeing is the beginning of the death of a nation. A nation that cannot secure it's borders is doom to die as history has taught us. Hey, Mr. Michael Savage, U.S. borders, language and culture is going to belong to Mexico in our lifetime. They won the U.S. Mexican War after all this time since the Alamo without firing a shot thru invasion.
Just another scam. They want to build a fence on one hand....and give them amnesty on the other... 99.% of the illegals DRIVE into the country or TAKE THE BUS. Why don't more people know this? Janet Napolitano never met an illegal she didnt like when she was Gov of Arizona...she couldn't open the border wide enough...now she's talking shit about a fence..:smt043 Why build a fence then turn around and give them jobs..birthrite citizenship..home-ownership...in-state tuition..catch and release programs...and sanctuary cities once they enter???????? Man they're playing the public like a jukebox on this Border fence crap. Wall Street elites realize Americans can't think...they control the education system as sure as they own those fake-ass Presidents ya'll love so much.
No other country in the world does what the United States is doing. As a nation we are committing suicide. With high unemployment we allow millions in illegally to compete for the few jobs available at the expense of the legal citizens. Then we tell the legal citizens to spend more in taxes to support the illegals. THIS IS FUCKING INSANE. I see a revolution coming.
Absolutely no one in our government cares and Mexico is happy to let its surplus work population spill over into the states, then have them send billions in remittances ($21.2 billion in 2009) back home. I tell anyone from Mexico that they can stay as long as they want, because no one here will come look for you.
There's no revolution coming...not from a people that allowed 13 trillion to be taken from them and given to fortune 500 companies. The only thing that's coming is more lillegal mexicans until the whole Country is a 3rd world sweatshop.
You have a good point, but you are missing the target. The United States is becoming as you say "a 3rd world sweatshop," but not because of immigration. The country is declining because of regressive taxation which gives huge benefits to large companies and super-wealthy individuals while forcing ordinary people to pay more and more money for basic necessities. Also, the large companies are taking American jobs and moving them to Mexico, China and India. This has destroyed the American manufacturing base and is creating social unrest all over the country. At the same time, WalMart type low wage jobs and highly specialized jobs requiring advanced education in health care are proliferating while jobs paying middle class wages are declining. This problem is much greater than Mexican immigration. So many people fail to understand this, but this is the result of 30 years of conservative economic policies.
You mean Wall Street policies.. Get off that republican democrat shit...Wall Street owns them both. Outsourcing and In-sourcing are weapons in the class war being waged against the middle-class.
