Great article Kushton, I wish everyone would take time to do the simple things to help stop the spread of germs...I have a special person who has shown (or maybe trained me!) how easy it is to stay healthy just by thinking before touching...I used to get terribly horrific bronchitis type colds at least 2-3 times a winter, haven't had one in over 2 yrs because of being more conscious of germs and how easily they are spread. The thought of what is on the bottom of our shoes when we come in the house.....ewwwwww! Thanks for sharing this! :smt038
I touch the toilet before I walk into a corporate meeting. And I laugh to myself when I shake everyones hands knowing I just gave them twice as much shit as they've given me.:smt003
Jordan, that face is the most amazing, hilarious thing I've seen in awhile. LOL I saw it and literally LOL'd. I know there are tons of germs out there, but you know what? I've been dealing with them all my life, AND I'm still here.
I don't know what I'm more amazed at: the information in this article or the truly bad misspelling of a simple word: it's soles of your shoes, not souls. Wow. Sorry, that's quickly become a huge pet peeve of mine: reading newspaper articles online and seeing all of the mistakes. I mean, really. The internet comes around and everyone forgets how to proofread??? Anyway, good info. I'd also add, that whilst it's not an every day occurrence, washing your hands after touching menus in a restaurant has become a HUGE thing for me.
I carry baby wipes and hand sanitizer in my purse. I wash my hands several times a day. I can't stand the idea of having something on my hands, germs from others and just how nasty other people are.
I keep shoe laces that have touched the floor of public rest rooms. So when someone I know needs a pair of shoes laces I have a pair ready for them.:smt036
I have wipes in my car for after I put gas in my car and for my daughter when I pick her up from her after school care. Also, for after playing on the playground. I don't touch bathroom door handles unless I have a paper towel. I love the doors that you can push out when you leave! LOL.
I have sanitizer in my car for the very same reason and I never touch bathroom door handles without a towel.
There is still an issue of building an immunity towards the germs though if you choose to avoid them which is frankly impossible.
Ringworm is common when bodies are rubbing against each other, so I definitely get good use out of the showers after rolling. I get a little freaked when guys roll for an hour, get dressed, then head to work or whatever. That seems so nasty. I also wash my gi after class. I got someone's blood on the collar before, and the sweat from everyone just gets soaked all in it :smt103 I haven't had anyone sweat directly into my mouth, or get blood in my eyes, so I guess I'm not making too many mistakes.
very true...i use hand sanitizer and baby wipes but i am not a fanatic because of the point you have just made...
