"Officer William Torbit Jr. was on duty in plainclothes when he responded to a report of trouble at the club. He was trying to break up a fight when he was attacked and pulled out his weapon to defend himself.

At some point after that, officers opened fire, killing the officer. Police say Torbit was wearing his badge but there were no other indicators he was police."

Police on duty should only be in uniform. Just like there should be no such thing as an unmarked police car. Hey, I got it! Why don't we use plain-clothed soldiers to mingle within a foreign population? Because it's stupid!

    we already do

    they're called special forces

and it's not stupid...it's a good way to get to places where a uniform won't let you :p

sad a cop got killed by another cop in a blue on blue tho..

reminds me of that one Wire episode, where the one cop shoots a black narcotics officer

not just special forces either......my unit went to (insert random place) and we didn't' wear uniforms. Uniforms are normally worn with larger units.
