First Impressions?

What were your first impressions of other posters on here? Also how has your opinion of those posters changed? I have one rule, if you're going to post something negative it must be constructive with its criticism...

My 1st impression was she is incredibly hot in bed but she proved me wrong.

I didnt like Karma, nor Petty at the beginning - but I have come to admire them both for different reasons. Although I still wanna smack "Mr shit stirrer, dont really read" Petty sometimes.. haha.. he is always the devils advocate and its refreshing often but sometimes I scratch my head sometimes.. do love the dude tho. I think I got into it quite often w Karma at the beginning.. but his candid take finally won me over.

 

LarryLong comes to mind. I used to think he was a questionable character at first. While he may still be, he actually became one of my favorite posters/serial threaders.

i remember archi being one of the most welcoming to me when i joined here...he was very kind and i still think that to this day.

joanie kind of scared me because she was so strong in her opinions and intelligent and for some reason i thought that she'd never warm to me...still think that she's intelligent and strong in her opinions, but also think her warm, beautiful, witty and welcoming...i have a wonderful friend on here and off

 

I dont do that first impression shyt its judgemental and i have learnt not to judge at first sight

 

Im the opposite...Every time I ignore my first impression and give the benefit of the doubt..I get burned :smt077

First impressions aren't judgmental, in my opinion. I think first impressions are gut reactions. You get a good feeling or a bad feeling when you first "meet" someone. (I put meet in quotes since we're talking online forum and not in real life).

I am the same way. Whenever I've gone against my gut, it's never ended well. LOL. It may take some time to figure out that my gut was correct, but my gut has never lied to me yet.

I trust my first impressions/gut reactions to people. And I do get vibes from posters on here. My vibes usually stay consistent the more a person posts.

 

So if someone doesnt impress you initially he doesn't get a second chance? .
If you are basing your opinion about someone's first impression that isnt judging? Then what is?
I have been burnt too but that does not mean i would write somebody off just because some assholes have burnt me when i gave them the chance.
Thats why i love dogs they dont give a shyt about first impressions.

 

The truth of the matter is EVERYBODY HAS A FIRST IMPRESSION of other people. Anybody who says they dont, is lying their ass off. A first impression doesnt write a person off. All a first impression is, is that initial vibe you get from a person when yall first meet. Thats it..... Ive had bad 1st impressions of others and then grown to be the closest of friends with those people. And Ive also had good 1st impressions of others just to find out later that, those people were untrustworthy and a waste of my time.

 

And even dogs do first impressions, if dogs takes a dislike to you, its usually an instant one (unless you did something mean).
