TUCSON, Arizona– Representative Gabrielle Giffords was fatally shot during a public appearance on Saturday, National Public Radio said. A gunman ran up to Giffords, 40, a Democrat, and opened fire. The suspect was taken into custody. Media reports said about a dozen other people also were shot.
This is tragic, my thoughts goes out to her family and friends. Though I must say this even if it's too early to say but FOX News must tone down their hosts and stop inciting groups like the Tea Party . . . this is the result.

I am not sure if the shooter is a nut job tea bagger, right wing extremist, an illegal, a mexican drug lord or a wacko liberal. Eventho she was a democrat, I think she was not with Obama and his party in regards to border control, immigration and other issues, so it could've been a bumper sticker worshipping, tree hugging wacko liberal too, who knows. Sad, she was a young politician, they gunned her down. Now the media is reporting that she is shot on the head critically and her aide is killed
She is a blue dog conservative democrat who was hard on the immigration issue to control the border. I hope the shooter was not an illegal immigrant (mexican hit man). His identity is being kept quiet. We cannot speculate at this time the media is telling us.

Um, A MILLION DOLLARS says the shooter is a regular viewer of Fox News. But this is typical, I expect the conservatives/tea baggers to run away from responsibility for this senseless slaughter after fomenting hatred and violence in the U.S. the last two years. She defeated a Tea Party candidate for Congress. Stop acting like she wasn't a DEMOCRAT, or that her party affiliation wasn't the main factor in why was shot. Gabrielle Giffords was shot in the head because she wasn't a member of the GOP/Tea Party. EDIT: The Huffington Post already said the shooter was a clean cut White male.

Slaten added that nine others were being treated at the hospital, all of them in critical or serious condition. One of the wounded was a child.
It's shame this happened, for whatever reason. Though, I definately shake my head at the thought that this could be over politics. I guess people hate it when you disagree with them or have power that they don't. A sad event indeed.
