2010 - Highlights and Lowlights

Every Christmas with my extended family we go around the dinner table and everyone gives their top 3 highlights of the past year. If there was a particular lowlight we tend to throw that in too.

It's a good way to reflect on the year, especially if it feels like you didn't achieve much or things didn't really go your way, you have to think of the best 3 things that happened!


My highlights this year:
(There were so many more than 3, but I had to narrow it down...)

• My holiday in Tokyo
• Seeing my students go from illiterate to reading anything and everything, and knowing I helped them achieve that
• Meeting and getting to know some amazing new people.

My lowlights:

• The death of a very special person I've known my whole life
• Leaving my little Aboriginal community and saying goodbye to the beautiful children and friends I'd made
• Heartache

Highlights

1. Introducing my love to my family and my home.
2. Getting a phone again (Thank you, my angel!)
3. Directing my first short film, even though it wasn't that great. lol The experience taught me a lot, and I can't wait to try it again in the future.


lowlights

1. My whole team production class. My contributions were barely used, communication was a joke, and I feel the class was a waste of tuition and 11 weeks of my time.
2. The constant work drama.
3. Financial stress caused by my school.

This year I know I experienced some lows but since I met my girl I've pretty much been on a high and can't think of anything else. So I'm good. So I'm sending my graitiude out the Universe/God and praying that 2011 sends me continued blessings.

Ok, so I tried to think about the lawlights but I couldn't really find too many so big that were worth naming so I thought I'd elencate more highlights because this year I've been very very lucky and I feel like the universe has fulfilled many of my desires

- I got my new, stable job that allows me to be financially independent;
- I went to live by myself and in february I'm moving to an even better place;
- I got my bellydance instructor license and I started teaching more dance classes;
- I lost weight without even trying;
- My mum opened her shop and that makes me happy because she is economically independent and feels realized.
-Due to the fact I moved out, my relationship with my dad improved since I don't have to stand his fixations anymore for longer then some hours at a time;

Lawlights:

- This was the first year without my beloved granpa and I'm spending part of the holidays crying of melancholy.
- I haven't met any interesting men that are worth being named.

Highlights:

- I started film-making again.
- My financial situation seems to have leveled off some and will hopefully be better in the coming year.
- I've made the decision about what I'm going back to school for and have found an online program to do it. I'm aiming to be back in school by Fall of 2011.

Lowlights (there were too many this year):

I spent the majority of this year in a pretty deep depression because:

- My financial situation sucked for the majority of this year.
- Got dumped by my boyfriend in the worst way possible.
- Had some pretty not-so-good realizations about a few people that I considered good friends of mine.

That's all I care to mention. LOL. I'm very happy to be saying goodbye to 2010.

I'm starting 2011 more on my terms and I'm feeling better about this coming year, so I'm not going to dwell on what happened to me this past year.

 

Highlights:
- Not a whole lot

Lowlights:
- Same

Relatively dull and uneventful year.

For me the highlights of 2010 was making so many over sensative people want to bounce from the forum. Thanks for letting me know I have that much power over you losers lol.

Highlights:
Finishing school
Knowing what the fuck I'm gonna do after school
Anime conventions
Half my friends doing shit with their lives(the ones that moved away)


Lowlights:
Not knowing what the fuck to do after school
Broke ass CSUs not accepting applications for Spring and Fall semester
FrienOther half of my friends being even lazier and unmotivated as the people we cracked on in high school(the ones who still live here)

 

Highlights:
-Im still alive
-Met some nice new people

Lowlights:
-Had a couple friends pass away
-my great grandma passed away
-hella stress from not knowing how to get what I want when I want it.

a week at the seaside with my baby girl watching her play in the sand

lowlights

way too many blue light trips to resus with madam, i do not want any more stays at hotel nhs

my mum deteriorating further, now shes unable to move at all and the care homes put her on a diet so shes not even allowed a slice of cake when i bake them for her ( her birthday cake was eaten by the staff )

 

Bookworm, Robina: your downlights have been pretty bad but I really wish you to have a fantastic 2011

HighLights-

Got into grad school
Went to my state capitol.
Lived for the whole year.
Ex-G/F is back.

LowLights-
Still broke and have debt.
Still have no job.
Ex-G/f is back.



I can't make heads or tails of if having her back is good or bad hence why she is on the list and we seem to have started a relationship again.

 

Be happy she doesn't have bat shit crazy friends who stalk you on here.

 

LOL. Be careful Arch... The reasons you broke up the first time will probably come back to haunt you. But best of luck.
