What are some places you have been that you would choose to live

I'm in NYC with the museums, nightlife, Central Park and people of all backgrounds

But when I was in university in upstate New York I used to go on the weekends to clubs in Montreal, which is like an hour away.

I really loved Montreal, just enjoyed the vibe and got the opportunity to use my French. I just dug the whole scenery of the place, especially Old Montreal and the women were gorgeous.

Despite the cold weather, its a place I wouldn't mind moving to one day.

Guess I could just up and go one day like John Krasinski and Maya Rudolph in Away We Go, lovely movie by the way.

Of the places I have been, I would love to move to Denver, New Mexico, Switzerland or Israel.

Get out, I freaking love Switzerland. Its part of why I learned German, except that they speak a brand of German in Switzerland called Schwyzertüütsch or Swiss German. Even though HochDeutsch or standard German is also spoken in the German cantons for communication purposes.

I just love how Switzerland is so neat and orderly.

Not really sure. I used to really love Pamona. Florida is also badass but I don't know if I'd wanna live there. Hell, anywhere but where I'm at now.

I feel in love with Japan. Love it. I try to stay away from the tourist spots and just visit the country and suburban area.

 

Japan looks sick as fuck.

 

To be honest, not very many. Prior to living abroad, I thought it would be amazing... but then I lived abroad, haha.
I actually really liked Kiev but I wouldn't live there unless I had a very good job. Russia's the same.
I would be happy to live in London, but apart from that and Manchester, I wouldn't really want to live anywhere else in England.

Italy and Portugal seemed really appealing but I don't speak Italian or Portuguese and I think it's so important to speak a language if you live in a country.

I'd love to live in New Zealand, just for a little while

Mrs. Nose (pictured) and I are considering moving back to Lisbon, Portugal someday.

 

I love Lisbon and Portugal in general. The only thing that's putting me off is not speaking Portuguese very well. Do you speak Portuguese sir nose?

 

I've always wanted to learn German.

I spent several weeks in Neuchatel, Switzerland (which is in the French speaking portion). We stayed in a hotel on Lake Neuchatel, in the winter. It was beautiful. I also got to use the little bit of French that I remembered from HS and college whilst I was there.

We traveled to the Bavarian part of Germany, so we got a small sampling of the German part of Switzerland as well.

It's a beautiful country.

I took a couple of language classes while I lived there for 3 yrs, and practiced a lot on the street. I'm nowhere near fluent, but I can hold conversations and get around. Mrs Nose picked it up really well.

The locals are patient listeners.

Your comments just confirm it, I loved Portugal and found the people amazing. I was only in Lisbon for two weeks but really fell in love with the place.

muito obrigada! I studied it for about six months but have forgotten most of it. I loved the language though, especially the Brazilian version. I'm going to try and learn as much as I can after I graduate.

 

My first knowledge of Switzerland and Germany was reading Heidi in the school library as a middle schooler in Guyana, my original country.

When I read those kind of books it just created a very vivid imagination for me, like I would imagine these places growing up.

I guess it might go someways to explaining my love of different cultures and attraction to white women, little did I know Heidi may have played a part.

I knew it would be either Taos or Sante Fe, yeah Taos is very beautiful I've heard.

 

I was wondering about this, I am learning Portuguese as well and the Brazilian dialect.

Portugal Portguese is much more harsher sounding and seems tougher to master.

Brazilian Portuguese is much more forgiving on proncounciation and sounds a little more prettier than the harsh tones of Portugal.

 

I don't find European Portuguese harder only because I speak Russian as well and my Portuguese friend said to me that European Portuguese is like Spanish with Russian pronounciation
