Why are we taking shots at others all of a sudden? This thread wasn't meant to start shit like that. Everyone has a right to an opinion after all. I have mine, but I'm not gonna hate on anyone that opposes the new law for any particular reason. It's just i feel the right decision was made. There are just some things you can never fully change.

Did the Emancipation Proclamation "cure" racism???:smt018

DADT had less to do with hatred and more to do with what is the job of the United States Military and what is best for an organization who's sole mission to wage war. Its all cool to wax about "we are all one people" but homosexuality is NOT just about sexual orientation. No matter how many people want to be pretend otherwise.

...if it was just about who screws who that problem would have easily taken care of. Homosexuality is also about behavior. And the question is homosexual behavior in keeping with the traditions and mission of the United States military.

I can see a squad of Soldiers and one Soldier challenging the leadership asking why he can't wear a Pink Flower in is hair. Or why he can't grow his hair past the length of 6 inches, like women, because he's gay. Or why Private Jones can't wear a dress in his off time..

    ...on base.

Its not just about who's have sex with who, and its something that people (who have never spent a day in uniform) are simply not able to understand.

So, let me get this right. He does not want to shower with Homosexuals so that makes him gay?? Everybody that opposes the gay agenda is a homophobe?

    1. When a person grows uneasy out of ignorance based on one's sexual orientation, there's a certain degree of insecurity within oneself.

    2. Gay agenda? Might as well go by Race Agenda too since we're all suppose to be equal under the law. Remember, gay rights is a civil issue and it's no different from black people and our rights.

Much of what you said was purely rubbish and I'll explain to you why. That sort of attitude you possess was basically the kind of attitudes the military when blacks were considered "threats" to serve in the military. The reasons given were stereotypical by nature. Such examples were:

    1. Strike whitey with a gun while their backs are turned.
    2. Demand to keep their afro and wear black military attire.
    3. Special accommodations for black people like have their own music in the fighter planes.
    4. Wear dashikis and their own black power barracks.

    So on...and so on...

The same applied when they didn't want women in the military as well. And the reasons were as equally outrageous.

Like the misconceptions of ethnic minorities and women serving in the military, gays are scrutinized the same way and it's based on poor stereotypes. Rest assure you, just because the repeal will be lifted doesn't mean that they'll act that way. If you do recall, other countries allow gays to serve in the military openly and you cannot tell. United Kingdom, Canada, Israel, and many more have gays in their military and they all follow the strict guidelines because they are aware of military code of conduct.

In other words...your logic is unfounded.

You have got to be kidding. You can be straight and do exactly what you said. That has nothing to do with sexuality. They will tell you it is against the rules. That is that. You deal with the punishment if you want to try to go against the rules. The DADT policy wouldn't stop someone from doing what you said straight or gay. If they don't want to follow the rules, they should get kicked out. Simple as that.

All I see is what ifs. It isn't like when that one soldier had another guy break into his computer and find out he was gay. He then proceeded to tell the higher ups who kicked him out of the military. That actually happened and could have happened again.

  16. Wonderful to hear someone who agrees with something I think and feel in my herat. Thank you!

    I hope so, too.

I voted for him, and I hope he is a two-term president for doing so good towards me and my own.

Man come on archangel, I have been doing this for almost 20 years, and I'm telling you this will happen. The presentation of a professional warrior will be degrade in this country. You see Americas, we don't know how to do anything middle of the road. Everything will be taken to the extreme....

It won't stop with the ability to decide who you want to sleep with, or the question of sexuality and will turn into something sick and grotesque. A liberal interpretation of society is what has chipped away at our country.

....and (as simply as that) is not as simple as that.

I emphatically disagree that integration of the military for Black Americans can be compared with allowing homosexuals to openly serve. The biggest reasons black were not allowed to serve in the military was because of white fear. Whites understand how they treated the Negro and the reality of the emotions this treatment created

So then you are going to take this person you have treated like an animal...and then give him a gun and teach him how to kill.

Time and time again black Americans proved to outmatch, out pace, out fight, out class whites on the field of battle. When given minimal training, and minimal equipment. Whites also worried that blacks would take over the ART of war. Whites also knew that giving the Negro equal treatment in the armed forces and he would ask for equal treatment in American society (which happened).

And that is just cursory view of the issue of blacks serving. To compare that with the fight to serve in uniform irrespective of who you allow into yoru bed CHEAPENS the fight these bruthaz and sistaz when through.

It fact it spits on their sacrifice.

The two couldn't be more different with the exception....

    Group A couldn't serve
    Group B couldn't serve

..and that is where I believe the similarities end.

A better comparative view would have been Women in Combat roles rather than Black Americans serving vs homosexuals.

There are several things we do in the middle of the road so this isn't true. The military is a no nonsense section. I guarantee you will see the same professional behavior from majority of the military(gay or straight).

I sincerely doubt this. There were questions with racial integration as well. I think that was done fine. Gay people are already there. Most of them will continue with the same professional behavior that they applied before DADT was repealed. Yes, there will be problems just like there are still now with race in the military(i.e. the racists that join) but I am sure we will fix it(Dishonorable discharge). We got time my friend. If we are still on the forum in 20 years, we will see. lol
