as I always say, the onus is on the "minority", who is always presumed to have an inferiority complex. Whites are assumed to be sexually deviant or have a fetish, but never self hate. When a minority believes this they take on racist perceptions, "why would a white who sees themselves as superior be with you, if not for money or sex"? They also believe you are not the equal of that white person, and could never imagine you thinking you were an equal in a relationship, thus the self hate.

but IMO the general consensus among black people (not all black people) in the USA is that Snipes is a ugly black man. but that's just the US i believe.

when the Blade Trinity legal drama was happening - (he was suing the producers-new line-& the director for breach of contract) he wrote a letter . message on movie site forums and talked about how he is aware of what people say about his looks.

me personally i think that Snipes is a average looking guy he is not ugly and not pretty either. in some of his films he looks very rough and in some of his films he looks very polished and sharp decent looking brotha.

he is aging badly though. its the stress of the tax drama.

i think the attacking wesley's looks is a another reflection of self-hating black people. its sad.

In a way Snipes in his films is always playing a determined driven black man who has to single-handedly overcome adversity either thru his wits, his charm, or physical or sexual prowess. and being that he is not what the black community considers a pretty faced black man,

i think lots of black men look up to him in this way. because he defies all the odds. he is a hero to lots of black men. he has a fanbase.

I remember telling my mom I thought Wesley was better looking, because he was always cut and muscular. My mom told me she preferred Denzel but she never could pinpoint exactly why. Probably was because he was lighter.

 

No one said Snipes was the new Billi D Williams. If I was a short fat hairy Armenian or Iranian decent hollyweird Movie Exec, I certainly will not cast Snipes to a romantic lead in hopes of bunch of horny ladies will be fingering themselves to his movie trailer. But I will cast him as an average looking tough BM, and I know I will get my money's worth and some if I cast him there. He has generated some serious mullah for studios and has opened the door for lots of new upcoming BM in action and drama.

well like i said not everybody. but LOTS of black people say wesley is ugly. he has even said that he is aware that people think he is ugly in interviews and he repeated this in message/letter he sent to the blade trinity forums when he was suing new line cinema.

i remember when blade came out in 1998 and i was looking at it on video with family. and a dark skinned girl in the room joked at screen saying "damn he is ugly"

i think snipes said something about self-hating black people too once. i can't remember exactly what he said though.

but i personally look up to snipes. but my point was that he left "HOLLYWOOD" for while and went overseas. And he realized that people overseas LOVE him. and even said he never would have found this out had he not traveled there.

 

Deliberately not dating black women is completely different than just happening to find white women attractive only. When I think of a black man who deliberately doesnt date black women. I think of a athlete who use to only date black women who now since he has a lil bread thinks hes above black women and now only chooses to date white or non black women. Being only attracted to white women is something you cant help.

The reason why non blacks get shit for dating white people is because the history of colonialism and self hate that comes with it all. When you are on top (like the white race is) you can do whatever you want without any bs involved. When you are everybody else then you have to worry about getting bs for doing stuff that whites can do with ease, such as interracial dating.

It is fucked up how we get judged by our worse, there really is a mispresentation of black people in general in the world. People act like blacks are the main ones on section 8 and shit when the truth is whites are.

I am very comfortable about my sexuality (straight hetero) and can look at someone & tell you whether that person is attractive or not. Maybe coz I hanged around with my cousin (she did some modeling and shit), who knows, Anyhoo, Snipes does not compare to Denzel. Denzel embodifies sexiness and good looks for majority of BW, period. Having said that Snipes is not chump either, I know lots of sistas especially the mix one who looked down on that brother tho.

but i look to up wesley snipes. while he is aging badly because of the stress he is under. When he did sugar hill, money train he really looked his best there. he looked really sharp!

in some of his films he does look alittle rough.

but again. overseas he is loved, liked and respected. over there he is a cool dude and talented artist.

Idk the thing about Snipes is he pulled his own bs in terms of dating black women. I remember reading somewhere he said he would never date black women again because of the way they treated him as a kid. I mean what kind of childish shit is that. I mean first, how is he gonna judge all black women based on the ignorant actions of a few. He said soe shit about he will only date asian women or something from now on. He is just as ignorant as the black women that gave hime shit for being darks skinned. Ive seen hella dark skinned black women who only like em or seem infatuated with me because Im lightskinned (its truly disgusting).
