Rock was created by black americans so I never understood why black people say listening to rock is acting white or why whites act like its their music only etc. I listen to alot of different things, rap, rock, house, jazz, funk carioca, and a whole bunch of other shit.

You're definitely correct. However, the rock music that's most popular among whites actually are more of the European style of rock music. We still have elements of rock music in many of the classic songs, but through the original rock derived from black people.

My darling Nate has the worst music taste. I'm the one who enjoys hip-hop, r&b, soul, etc. While he still enjoys the former his heart truly sings to punk. The Ramones is like his favorite band. He also enjoys screamo music and a lot of low budget indie "girl with a guitar" kinda shit that wouldn't be so bad if the chicks could ever actually sing (he gravitates to the ones who can't lol).

It's not all bad. He likes a lot of classical, and some of his other indie finds have been really awesome, but his big favs...maaaan. lol No bueno.

His taste is simply very eclectic, like mine. I've introduced him to some of my favorite metal bands with a lot of success. Eventually I'll introduce him to a mosh pit. lol

I'd remind them where Rock music came from.

I mostly like what I grew up listening to. R&B, Pop, and hip hop. But I also like some rock and some country.

    That's new to me...

Like you and BA, I love videogame music and J Pop as well.

Could you put me on on some good classical music? Something along the lines of Schindler's List theme that moves the emotions.

If you liked the music from Schindler's List you might appreciate Gorecki's Symphony No. 3. It's very evocative. And a favorite of mine is Barber's Adagio for strings. It gets to me every time.

Can't seem to post the video's but here are links:

I find that using internet radio stations like Pandora and compilation albums are the easiest way to expose oneself to more classical. Trying to pick through composers I've never heard of is annoying, but with those two options you get a variety to browse through.

With Pandora you can even make a radio station around music like the Schindler's List score. It'll pick music similar to that for you. I <3 that website.

You're welcome. I have a lot more of these bits of music for your selection. They are mainly video game compilations, so later on I'll be sure to post them for you.
