COP KILLING AT RISE IN CHICAGO

CHICAGO – The police officer was in full uniform, gathering evidence from a car break-in when someone walked into the garage and shot him and the car's owner in the head, then fired another bullet into their heads as they lay on the ground.

The brazen, daylight slaying last week of Officer Michael Flisk underscores what Chicago police have been saying for months: They are increasingly confronting people willing to attack them even as overall violent crime in Chicago continues to fall.

Five police officers have been killed in the line of duty this year — the most in at least 25 years. A sixth police officer was gunned down as he sat in his vehicle while off-duty just a few days before Flisk's death. Add to that, the number of reports of batteries on police officers has nearly tripled in just over a decade.

In 2009, there were just under 3,300 reports of battery on a police officer, more than twice as many as were reported in 2002 and nearly triple the number reported in 1999. Between 2007 and 2009 the number of reports climbed from 2,677 to 3,298 — a 23 percent increase — and this year the number is on pace to climb well past 3,000 again.

"There is a lack of respect for the police, a lack of fear of the police that's getting worse," said Officer Nick Spencer, a 17-year-department veteran. "They see a cop, and they just don't care anymore."

Police, activists and even some former gang members point to other explanations, from the drop in the number of police officers on the streets to changes in the structure of gangs that has led to increased violence among the city's estimated 100,000 gang members.

Officers routinely return to their station with stories about rocks and other debris pinging off their squad cars as they respond to calls or being confronted by crowds that no longer disperse just because an officer tells them to. Also, the sound of gunfire that used to stop whenever they arrived at a scene now continues long afterward.

Niggas are stupid as hell. They won't be happy until there's complete lawlessness.

    No doubt.

Police brutallity is on the rise too.

    Every action has a reaction.

They get away with shooting unarmed people in the back ALL THE TIME.

They made the bed they are laying in.

When at 30 you don’t have a pot to piss in, When at 19 you have a full rap sheet of convictions instead of a high school diploma, When at 18 you never had a daddy to kick your ass onto a straight path, When you arrive at 24 without letting anyone teach you the basic social code of not stealing or taking other peoples shit, When all you see or have ever been exposed to is the dog-eat-dog…gonna get mine attitude…….and your choice to get yours and your respect and your status will have to come by violence……then what you want as an ignorant thug on the streets of Chicago is lawlessness and chaos and anarchy to even your playing field……..

I dislike the police due to some issues I've had in the past but never have I rooted for the slaying of an innocent police officer. To each is own that do but it is fucking sick.

They? Who is they? What bed did they make?

Because if you know anything about the cop killers mentioned, you'd know the murdering punk with the long rap sheet in Cali was on parole for raping a 12 yr old girl at gunpoint, along with 3 other women, and fled to his little sister's room to barricade from the cops (which sent her fleeing into the night in her pyjamas). Perhaps his reaction to slay the four cops was for their action of even thinking of re-arresting him?

As for the second punk, six days after posting bail on charges of raping a child, he walked into the Tacoma coffee shop and murdered four officers as they caught up on paperwork on their laptops. Yet 9 years earlier, he got a wonderful break when nice (aka bleeding heart) Mr Huckabee released the menace to society with a commutation of a 108 yr sentence. So maybe then, he was reacting to that? :smt102

Before this economic catastrophuck, black men in America's inner cities found it extremely difficult to secure gainful employment. This downturn with a real unemployment rate in the double digits is going to further cripple the impoverished metropolitan areas of America. It's so bad that a young brother like BA who's smart enough to attend UCLA or Berkeley has to enlist, and spend several years with fucking idiots like petty just to give himself some breathing room.

When the economy starts coughing and spitting up blood, crime goes up but it's not such a big deal when young black men kill each other indiscriminately. No, but kill a few cops and it automatically becomes a big concern. Fuck that.

    I don't even know what you're talking about.

    I do know this.

Police brutality is on the rise.

Cops murder and steal ON THE REGULAR...

They get on the stand and lie.

    They rape women..

    They sell and distribute drugs..

They tell criminals who turned them in...yep...they sure do.

And they get away with it.

There is no REAL punishment for rouge cops..

You can count the ones in prison on one hand.

Criminals in everyday life get punished...Police officers that are criminals don't....

That should has got to change.
