I don't really keep track of how far I run; I run stairs(bleachers) for the most part so it's hard to know. I go by my time and heart rate more than distance. I started running a few years ago but have been every day ever other day for close to a year. I run in NB with an orthotic or barefoot when I run the footballfield.
I broke my ankle last fall and was in a car accident so the way I run now is because of that. I'm experimenting with running normally now to see if my back can take it.

I had a severe ankle injury about three years ago myself & I've had a couple of back injurys...one from a fall at work & the other happened during a seizure, so I had to stop running altogether. I miss it, but I was told I probably won't be able to run again. I hope your back cooperates with you; just be very careful. :)

I do too. I am in some major pain this morning, though I don't believe it's from running. I'm working at correcting my possture too. ouch My ciropractor has been working with me to see if I can find a way to keep running. I run on my toes (easier on stairs). That reduces the impact on the lower back. Thanks and I will! I am sorry you had to stop running. I hated not running; but who can run on cruches with a broken ankle !? My back injury was from a car accident the day I started walking without an ankle brace. I was so messed up, no fun.

I'm sorry you're hurting this morning; it makes for a rough day sometimes. I hope your day has gotten better. The timing of your accident sounds typical, but it also sounds like you've come along way since then. A good chiropractor makes a huge difference; mine is wonderful. Hopefully you'll keep progressing & have fewer painful days. :)

    I run 3.5 mi a day.
I take it slow and it's an hour each time, but then Florida can have these wacky storms and them I have to stay in and just do indoor exercises.

Used to do a very hilly 12k early last year in 55 minutes. Now am totally out of shape restarting my fitness program. I let myself go and now I can only do 5 k in 30 minutes, daily. By September I'll be back in shape-I've done it before.

Yep I run too...I do 4km a minimum of 3 times a week. If Im feeling energetic it's 5 or 6 times. My best time yet was 22.46min!! I think I was angry that day haha.

Nothing destresses me like running. I always feel so good afterwards. Need to keep it up and get some muscle back as I've gotten a little soft in London haha

keep up the good work, folks. i'm back on 4 days a week now. had to stay inside on the treadmill today, as there were some thunderstorms swirling around. still had to log my 3 miles in though.

what's your shoe game lookin like these days?
i have some cheap sauconys that are holding up well, XT 600. light and bouncy.

I'm an Aasics lover. Always have been. I've tried on other shoes in stores and they just never feel as right as an Aasics.

Can anyone tell me why sometimes I can do my 4km without stopping and then other times (like the last few days) I have to stop at the 2km mark and then stop round 4 other times in the second 2km????

It really annoys the hell out of me. Am stopping for no more than 15-20seconds each time, or I should say slowing to a walk, then jogging again.

    Annoying.

There is a way to fix that, though the ideas are not going to be simple. The first thing you should do is develop a training regime around being able to do a high number of Hindu Squats without stopping. We're looking at starting at around 50 squats and then going up to 250 and 300. These squats develop explosiveness and endurance in your legs. Then you need to move on to the second thing which would make you better, which involves the usage of a treadmill with certain settings configured on it. If you like, I could act as a coach towards you to improve your abilities.

You know what is funniest about the video? The bird song in slo mo....haha!

OK those squats look HARD. Yikes. I dont even think I could do 50, jesus.

Question - will they make my bum nicer? This is important haha
Question - should I be doing them before or after the jog? I think if I did 50 my legs would hurt and I wouldnt be able to maintain my jog with sore muscles?

    Thanks for the tip!

nike crosstrainers have been the only exercise shoe since 1996.

I trust them, and they always satisfy.

right now I'm in "Nike Scramble TR 2"
