Cool! Iceland was another one I was researching, but I don't know. Funny you say Estonia. I was reading this thread in this NBA forum I go to and an Estonian guy was overly racist towards Muslims and blacks. I think most of the racist comments are done online because you can get away with it. If this was in real life, half of the people wouldn't say these things.

Even though Iceland is a wonderful place it is now having some financial difficulties. It is best to stay in Denmark or Germany. Hope that Estonian guy get what he deserves.

Actually, I think Sweden faired better than both Denmark and Germany during the latest economic crisis. So did Norway, they have no national deficit - Iceland is pretty much bankrupt.

Flyingeek, I have been researching Stockholm, Sweden all night and it is looking more and more attractive. Sweden is like this with me:

    1a. Denmark
    1b. Sweden

It sucks that non-EU people have to pay tuition for schools, which is not that bad, but I found it disappointing.

Do you think it will be hard for me to learn Swedish?

Look at the tuition this way:
If your not paying taxes in the EU, of course you have to pay for school.
Why would you go to school for free when the locals cant - they pay through their taxes. Its like me coming here asking to go to school for free.

Danish and Swedish is very similar - simple grammar and vocabulary but complex use of letter combinations that changes the pronunciation, this has to be memorized as there are no real rules for it. Even worse, different spellings can be pronounced the same, but spelled differently.. lots of memorization.. but should not be too hard.

Dont rule out Germany - any of the big cities.
I suggest travel around as a tourist and get a feel for the different cities.

My cousin plays professional basketball in Germany and I have to visit him since I haven't seen him since 2000. He has a German girlfriend. :D

I am not worried about the pronunciation; worried more about reading and writing it the most.

I didn't mean to say "free" like you didn't have to pay. I know why the taxes in the EU are so high is because it goes to healthcare and education and other things. I feel like a fool for saying that. :(

cool! Check that out - it might be good to go where you know people. It makes it a bit easier.
Pronunciation will become important if you want to communicate with people in their language - that will be harder than the reading and writing. I think you will have no problem with that part w a but of persistence.

Dont feel like a fool, I know how you meant it.

I have three good friends that are Danish that live in various cities in Denmark; I have known all 3 girls for 1-2 years. I met a Dane guy on YouTube a month ago and he says he would help me with anything in Copenhagen. It is good to know people, but I am the type of person that loves to be friendly and meet new people.

Thanks, Flyingeek! You said in another thread that you visit Sweden once a year; when do you go? Just curious.

I live in Arizona and it is the coldest it has ever been. Glad it has been raining here more. I love rain. You live on the West Coast like I do so you know how it is. Arizona has 2 seasons: summer and fall. October-May is the best...It feels the best around this time anyway. I am the opposite now. I want to walk in the snow. I want it to rain all day, everyday. I want cold weather. I am sick of this dry ass heat. I am the last person that would say I love cold weather, but tired of sleeping in an oven! Hottest summer ever.
