How has the forum changed (for better or worse)

I originally joined the site the beginning of 07. It had a very different feel (IMO) at that time. I used to start all sorts of threads and for the most part people were really good about sincere exchange of ideas. To me, it actually felt like the black men on here were truly interested in white women. And that the white women were truly interested in black men. When men would speak against women other men would step up to them. Disrespect was not tolerated and certainly not celebrated. Women would also step up. I know at one time some said things about how I was rather protective of the men on the site. Trolls were exposed quickly and not really tolerated. Cuckies were put in their place and were not embraced no matter how many naked pics they would supply to threads. This was all long before there were mods. There was sortof a feeling of protection....definitely welcomed new members though.

There were always those who seemed to be angry and hateful but they were insignificant. Somewhere along the line, it seems that the feel shifted to more of an adversarial one. I think at one point the approach was more of one of inclusion and wanting to understand each other and somewhere along the line it became more exclusionary and like people were expecting problems. Much more bullshit and much less substance now. I think part of it may have to do with how much goes on offsite between members now. At one point..that wasn't really happening at all. I think it's great if people connect on here and get together. Unfortunately though, there are those who seem to have had some bad experiences and carry an underlying tone with them to the forums.

It's funny how things go.

Well yes of course they do. But I think it takes people who have a true commitment and interest in having things get better for it to actually happen. Let's face it, this site makes money from cuckies, etc. It's promoted on sites that are certainly NOT about fostering positive interaction between black men and white women (other than to play up to sexual fetishes). So no matter what any few folks would like to do....some things will always exist on this site. We all have a choice as to whether or not we support it. But make no mistake about how things work on here.

It's cyclical for sure. It's a bit slower paced w/o the drama.(what happened to BMJ? Lol). But one thing you can count on is some honest opinions/advice derived from a variety of experiences. A quick aside. How many people have changed their handle? It's a bit confusing

I left KinCA off on purpose since it's close enough to her other user name. I don't think that's BMJ. BMJ could write well, as in structure, not necessarily thought process.
