So yeah, Hammer.....er...uh....King Hammer is takin' shots at Jigga. Basically tries to call out Jay-Z on the whole devil shit. Well, this shit is corny as fuck. And muthafucka callin' himself King, like he runnin' shit. Better take your ass back to the church with this shit. Funny ass video, though. Here's some of the responses from the forum I found it on. Some of this shit had me dyin'. "this shit is wack hov doesn't even wanna respond because that's like beating up a retard" "howmuch you think they riLLy' paid niqqas to put those vests on & dance around likethat'?" "this shit is a joke. who the hell dances in a diss video anyway? hammer making the bay look foolish." "Not really sure what to think about this video... I still think the Cash4Gold commercial was the best career move he's made in recent years." "HAMMER WOULD FUCKIN SLAUGHTER JAY-Z STRAIGHT UP YO!!!!!! *in a "you got served" dance off in 3D..look i get it...i dont like joe camel either..but if your gonna call out "one of the greatest", you gotta come better than hammer on hyphy beats." "terrible..."i dont rock your wear"? come on...he says jay stole his swag? lol if he did i cant tell...i dont see jay pop locking in the big pimpin video" And one more thing, how many music videos are there gonna be of some muthafucka sparring n' shit? That shit's dumb as hell. But I guess it's better than pointing finger guns at the screen and pulling an air trigger.
BA I feel like suing you for the five minutes of my life that I'll never get back. That was horrible and cheaply done. The first part made no sense and you could hair the mic knocking against his close. The editing guys needs to be shot for allowing that. And why is it niggas like can't just realize that part of your life is done. Knock it off damn.
I don't think he meant it as an exact slam toward Jay Z. it took me a minute to realize all the meanings there. The end sort of brought the meaning to the surface, himself stopping the devil from chasing Jay Z then at the lake he takes him down to baptize himl. I think he's using the video as an outreach tool to share his faith with Jay Z. Not long ago MC Hammer became a Christian, so a lot of Christian rappers especially make it their ministry to try and pull in rappers from the mainstream. Like there is one guy in particular, maybe named Red or something like that, that says a lot of stuff about Eminem, trying to get his attention, saying how he would like to talk with him or have a minute of his time. Looks like Hammer is trying to do the same? Though I probably would have opted for an e-mail, something less abrasive and subtle lol...
Yeah, I thought it was a "fuck you, it's war" diss until the whole baptism thing at the end, although in hip-hop, when you come at somebody in that tone, it's easy to take it as a straight up diss. And Hammer did say that he'd end Jay-Z's career and that's 100 percent fighting words right there.
I tried to listen to a minute of it the other day and couldn't tolerate it. Hammer - stay away from Hip Hop. You look like a clown.....
lmao! I'm confused. Was the guy running in the white t-shirt with his titties bouncing supposed to be Jay Z? WTF? Please Hammer, don't hurt yourself :smt018
The video and the overall theme left me both baffled and speechless so I really don't have an opinion on it or the beef between the two men. However exactly 20 years ago around this very same time, Hammer was where Jay is right now status-wise as well as financially speaking. Nobody stands on the mountain-top forever.
yeah hammer you need to stick to what you did best and that was party music. your time was ticking back then . back then he was on fire for dance music and that was it. he had maybe 1 to 3 more albums in him and he could have called it quits. he is lyrically horrible. the only good thing about him was his grind but he should have kept his money in his pocket. entertainment wise no one can hang with hammer. what was the need for the long intro. the theme of the video...there is none. theme for videos that went out in the 90's
Whoa slow down TS. Jay owns his label and over half a billion and he is an owner of the NETS. Jay is incredible unique as far as the game is concerned. Not to mention Hammer is a shitty business man. How do you blow 30 million dollars?
I think it was a good natured response, so maybe that's why he did. Especially if he only had good things to say about Hammer in his book. Or maybe it was just too funny not to respond. lol
