work in progress, colouring some line art for a friend. He did the lines, I'm working on the colours, obviously. Also, this page is supposed to be a two page splash, which is why it's more horizontally oriented.
What computer program are you using for the coloring and shading. Photoshop, Painter, Sketchbook Pro?
background test render. Our scene is set in the desert, thus the sand dunes. Painted all that shit by hand, did 3d layers in After Effects, then moved the camera to see if my theory worked. It did I just need to smooth out the animation and make sure my partner likes my layout. The finished version will be available in a few weeks P.S. I also learned a valuable lesson today, and from now on when I upload my videos I'm only exporting them as adobe flash format. It took less than 20 seconds to upload this, when it would have been an hour for an avi, and half an hour for a .mov. I also have a new method for rendering large files that I think will help speed up the process in the future. Go me!!!
still needs some work, but i think it turned out nice. me and a partner turned this in today
Thanks!!! I was happy with it. There are still a few technical issues that need to be ironed out, but I think overall it turned out nice. I've got to relight the shot I worked on by myself (the last shot with the chair. I did a lot of post to the overall video, but the last bit I animated myself, except the grass in the bg) so I can use it in my demo reel. And I gotta fix the matte plate because somehow it got messed up in the render and didn't show.
That's hella badass, DH. If I had to do something like that, I'd be completely lost. This stuff is cool as hell .
lol I didn't even see the responses! Thanks guys, you make me feel good about my work, and that's important. It's hard to stay positive sometimes, especially with teachers who prefer tough love. -_- mostly they focus on the bad points of stuff...I understand, since we need to fix problems, but sometimes it's nice to hear "why that's nice!" instead. lol still shot of the environment where my next project will take place. I did the lighting and textures today. well, -most- of the textures. It still needs some tweaking, but it's getting there. We're animating soon. It's a short about zombie teddy bears fighting a stuffed bunny. ahahaha
Argh, I need to upload the updated scene, I just realised. I had to change -all- the lighting, but I've added a second (and possibly multiple more) passes to the render to try and get that high quality feel. Thinking about rendering in hd, but will probably not bother since we'll be pushing it as far as standard format now. -_- Finished a comission I started a few months ago. I'm displeased with how long it took but the results are nice. This is bad cellphone photo quality, though. The details are lost in the fuzzyness. around 20 hours or so was spent on this drawing. I really hope I get a scan, it looks tons better in person. I drew millions of tiny hairs all over the doggy. lol
I believe the story is going to end with the bunny in a precarious "to be continued" type scene, though the way it's edited can change that. And I'll be doing the majority of the editing, from what it seems. I've turned into Lighting and Texture Artist/Editor/Foley Artist/and Director for this project. lol Which is good. All my strong points.
I think you are an awesome artist Persephone! I especially love this drawing! I need to show your stuff to my son, because it may motivate him to pursue something with his art. Keep up the great work!
I LOVE IT!~ I hope you bring her to life. LOVE Greek Mythology...Your drawings, paintings and vid shorts are amazing. Everyone's stuff here is brilliant! I'm just in awe at the CREATIVE productions that come from the minds of artists. I love the fact that you can't stop an artist. They have to release it, and in turn, we get to witness.
