Eh...last time I checked McDonald's employees don't hunt people down and march them into their resturants at gun point and force them to eat unhealthy stuff.

It's a personal choice people make, just like what brand of shoes to buy, what quality, etc. If they want to eat healthy they shouldn't eat at McDonalds, go to Subway with MORE choices or go buy actual food at a store and....I don't know, maybe actual cook it themselves for a change?

Guess if that happened we would find him sueing himself when he's stuck in a wheelchair because of his obesity and using a gopher stick to grab stuff.

It's like the woman in the video said, people need to start taking personal responsibility for their actions. No one forcefed this guy chicken mcnuggets & egg mcmuffins, so if he got fat eating that crap, it's all on his fat ass.

    Your Honor,

Taking personal responsibility isn't possible. It's all McDonald's fault. Their food shouldn't be so damn good, inexpensive and accessible. With more than 31,000 locations worldwide, it's virtually impossible to walk three feet without seeing a McDonald's directly in front of me.

I stand before you today to make a confession. I'm addicted to McDonald's. Yes, I'm addicted however it's not my fault. I didn't ask McDonald's to place 2 restaurants within walking distance of my home. McDonald's didn't consult with me about making certain the menu is littered with foods I enjoy. Accountability must be placed at the feet of the executives who paid for scientific studies to learn what ingredients would most likely increase dependency on their food.

Pointing a gun at someone's temple causes most people to freeze. But placing a line of hot, fresh out of the grease, aromatic french fries in the path of pedestrians to the door of their establishments causes most people to place one foot in front of the other to head in that direction.

Blame not my weak will but the cold, calculate and cunning plan of the world's most populous fast food restaurant for my ever expanding waistline, irregularity, blood pressure, the likelihood of heart disease, and diabetes. But since it's economical (in the short term) to eat McDonald's food, at least bank account isn't suffering.

You can draw a direct correllation between the rise in obesity and the increase in fast foods and other processed foods. Of course the increase in sedentary lifesyles has helped either. The significant point is that corporations must be held responsible for contributing to this problem. As a result of the government subsidies for grain, processed foods are the cheapest, yet least nutrious food available to the masses. If you have limited money to spend, you often don't have much of a choice. The problem is much bigger than McDonalds. Just a quick example. I always enjoyed rice cakes as a healthy unsalted way is have a snack. Now, within the last couple of years, I can't them because the companies decided to appeal to more people by sugar coating them, added garbage and making them another source of empty calories, what a shame. So, there are many more companies that McDonalds at fault here.

I'm all about personal responsibility but it's about corporate responsibility as well. In the end we will pay, through our taxes, for the mounting medical costs caused by obesity. So, why should we foot this bill of $150 billion while the coffers of the meganational corporations grow fatter. If they feel the heat, they will make changes to their food so that it's not so bad. This is one way of fighting the problem.

People need to wake up the reality of the power of corporations and how they affect our lives in many ways, from our health to politiics.

Holding corporations responsible is against the principles of this great nation...

    My sentiments exactly.

People go to these places because the food is so damn good! It's a personal choice and I feel that people should not put the blame game on a corporate business because they make damn good food. I go there once a week to buy (mainly) 20 pc. Chicken McNuggets w/ large fries and a tall drink of sweet tea. That's my ritualistic mantra. And seldom would I switch to the burgers.

yeah my vice is the angus burger or double-quarter pounder. When I pull weekend duty, I usually go there for lunch (work is slow, you can enjoy being full). I can't eat like that during regular workdays..too many people around with too many damn problems.

But yo, I remember when the 20pc joint was 4.99. That was killa.

I like KFC too tho...i can usually eat a 12 piece strips family meal by myself. 2 large sides and four biscuits all day.

    Yep.

What upsets me though are the parents that only feed their kids this kind of crap. It pisses me off to see parents with a morbidly obese child, because imo the parents are killing their kids. I guess they'll blame that on McDonalds too.

For real. Then they wanna get concerned about health at a later stage. And they'll also have the nerve to say "you need to cut back on fast food" like it was the kid's choice to go out and buy the food. All they did was want the food, the parent bought it.

It makes me sick because not only are they ruining their kid's health but their setting them up for a life of torture in this piece of shit society. When their kids get treated like shit, they teach them that they're helpless victims instead of doing what they can to fix the situation. Then they offer them comfort with a damn bag of Cheetos or something!

That's America for you, my dear. That's how it is and also people couldn't get enough of their fatty foods. America is the worst country who have so many of obese people. They didn't think of their health, let alone their children.

Feeding their children to wrong choice of the foods makes me truly sick. Like they're trying to getting them fat.

That, my dear, that's the main reason why I'm not going to allow myself to feeing my children to the wrong choice of the foods from fatty foods. They may be looking very delicious, but in reality, they contain too much sodium, that's not good for your heart.

If too much salt, that's fatal to your heart. You could die from that. I was so glad that few years ago that in New York, they decided to banned trans-fat, that alone, is fatal to our health and to our hearts as well.

My so-called friends accused me that I'm anti-american! How anti-american can you get??? It's about to getting healthy, you know?!

What about people in Japan, eh?! They manages to live longer without eating fatty foods!
