What do you think? Yay or nay? Personally, I think he fits the bill a lot better than expected, because I'm all for discovering new talent and giving no namers a chance, especially for iconic roles like this where a well-known celebrity might take away from the popularity of the character. Things are lookin good for the movie so far.
this guy has had plenty of big roles, including Johnny Storm in both fantastic four movies, the lead in 'Cellular,' The Losers, etc. this is just another notch in his belt.
he's definitely a rising star he's got the acting chops + the physical stature, which is a good combination kinda like a young Jason Statham, with more hair, no accent, and no karate. :smt063
ANAL NERD MODE ENGAGED: Okay, how come my man got dents in his shield? I thought you couldn't dent or mark that sucker up because it's suppose to be damn near indestructable ?
because it's the World War 2 Capt, and his gear was prototypical then (maybe). I'm not sure if they're following strict canon, but his stuff will get upgraded as the movie goes on. That's something they made clear. Personally I think the dents give off a certain atmosphere. It's like that shield has been through some very serious combat and stuff.
Okay, it been a little while since I got into comic books in depth, but I do remember reading an origin story back in the early 80's he had that triangle shape shield when he first became Captain America and that joint use to get banged up alot. The round shield was given to him by FDR as a replacement for the triangle shield because it was the first prototype weapon/defense item that was created from early adamantium samples combined with vibranium samples, the metal from Black Panther's kingdom. Seen this on the web while browsing and looks like they will have him with the triangle shield to start with as it was in the comics, so unless there is something like some prototype Nazi weapon being used that can dent the shield up like that in the movie.....
Wolverine's skeleton (based on adamantium) is indestructible, but like metals in general, if you find something just as dense, you can damage it. Steel sharpens steel, for example. Every hero has something that foils his best asset that's what makes them interesting if superman didnt have kryptonite, shit would be boring
Exactly why I said unless there is a Nazi prototype weapon to be used in the movie because of course they have to have something to be a threat to counter his shield.
basically i halfway read these posts, so i have the habit of rewriting what people write lol i still wanna see this movie tho..i just hope the direction is tight I know Evans can play the hero role, but if the director doesnt have great vision, it's going to suck ass
