Looks like something that should be sold at Monsanto's superstore (if one existed).

As I understand it, they cross-bred a common green variety with a European heirloom red variety of celery and produced this supposedly milder red version. Yeah, I'd probably try it.

very interesting, I've wanted to grow some heirloom veggies - have heard the flavor is amazing, especially tomatoes...

Yeah, I'd like to give growing heirloom tomatoes a try. There is nothing that compares to the taste of a tomato fresh off the vine. Unfortunately, the squirrels got to taste more of them this summer than I did.

I remember, as a child, picking tomatoes off the vine & eating them then & there. Do you like yellow tomatoes? Homemade salsa is also fun to make...

I'm not a big fan of celery unless it's thrown in something, so changing it's color isn't gonna change much.

This is coming from a person who loves every vegetable, besides brussels sprouts and jicama.

Not a big fan of yellow tomatoes. They taste kind of bland to me. But I've been known to use them to add a little color to a salad.

Oh yeah, salsa is fun. I guess you like to cook?

Red celery? What's next? Are the scientists coming up with new ideas..? Very weird..but I'd like to try. For the benefits of my health, of course. There's no telling what will red celery have effects on anybody, except me.

i find this need we have to mess with mother nature unnerving and unnecessary. no wonder people are heading to organic food what with these mad scientists feeling the need to fix something that just isn't broken. oh & that's a no from me.

You're right. We don't have to mess with mother nature. You know, I tried organic food before, boy, they're very delicious. Very good for your health, if you will.

Of course, it's for benefits of our health, my dear. Seriously, red celery looks too weird. Looks like it's blood, you know?

We aren't mixing babies and animals here, it's just some slightly altered celery.
