Melanoma is a serious threat to health in Africa, where UV exposure is greater. Darker skin is therefore an evolutionary advantage there, explaining why central Africans are still black.

And with regards to glaciers, they have everything to do with evolutionary pressure because:

1. Glaciers covered Europe some 10,000 odd years ago.
2. There was less stuff to hunt so evolutionary pressure was magnified.
3. That evolutionary pressure (men selecting lighter skinned women and the inability to support multiple wives) lead to the evolution of white people.

Again, most people seem to be misunderstanding me. I'm not proposing some personal theory here, these facts are peer reviewed. That white people evolved during the last glacial maximum is indisputable genetically:

Here's a simple example which explains why this is not really about dominant vs. recessive:

Generation P (the first) has one one white woman, one black man and one black woman. The black man and white woman have three children.

Generation F1 (the second) then has three "black" (biracial) people. Assume one son and two daughters. The son will tend to hook up with the lighter skinned daughter (one will by chance likely be lighter skinned).

So yeah, in the short term in this example there are more "black" people in generation two, but the actual presence of the dark skin genotype is less.

Actually I have no problem with white men with black women, in fact, I encourage it.

I hope for my sis that she can find a successful man (white or black). The problem is this pesky preference that men have for lighter skinned women, hence my beef with the disproportionate number of WW/BM vs BW/WM. And yeah I share that preference for white women, actually I wish I didn't so I do feel guilty about it, hence my posting in this thread. But I guess people are not allowed to have conflicting emotions and ideas.

Do you hate that you're biracial (if you truly are)? Sometimes some light skinned and biracial people tend to be the most militant against IR dating, yet they're either a product of one, hated on cause their skin was lighter than other Blacks they grew up around and were teased or felt they weren't Black enough or too close to White and hated that part etc.

Of course you don't have problems with WM being with BW, you only have problems with us on the other side (BM/WW).

As for you feeling guilty, check the quote above.

If your guilt is so innate as it seems, there are some beautiful single Black women for the taking. Then you can add your "Black" genes back into the Black pool thus keeping the Black population darker. Then again, remember, dominant and recessive genes. Like Forrest Gump said about life being like a box a chocolates, just like an offspring, you never know what you're going to get!

 

Nope, I love both my parents and I have no problem with being bi-racial. What bothers me is that my father and so many other successful black men marry white women making it hard for black women to find good men. I've got nothing against inter-racial dating if it happened in even numbers, and I encourage white men to date black women!!

But it bothers me that, either because of the media or because it's innate, that men prefer lighter skinned women. If that preference keeps up you're selecting against dark skin... selecting against black people. I'm against a discrimination against black women on the dating market, which is really what's happening here because of that aforementioned preference on the part of men. It bears out in the inter-racial marriage and co-habitation numbers.

Also I'm not trying to split anyone here up. The good that comes from any two people being in love totally outweighs any other concerns about origins or backgrounds. :smt060

Heh, I said the preference for lighter skin is innate, my guilt (or the OP's) is not innate and has to do with my knowledge and proclivities.

Sorry if I wasn't clear, but ultimately my primary beef is not with the black gene pool, but the fact that this bias sucks for black women and is step back for racial equality. Successful black men marrying white women means kids with two black parents are disadvantaged from birth.

The whole thing about black people existing, or getting much lighter skinned, is a pit of the stomach thing but I wouldn't say anything on that ground alone.

I don't think you really believe your last statement. A lot of people look at IR couples and think something negative, when in turn, it could be genuine.

No, that preference has existed for a long time (millions of years). The glacial maximum provided the food shortage (evolutionary pressure) that lead to this preference selecting out darker skinned women over many generations, leading to the evolution of white people.

But actually, the reason why human women are smaller than human men is also in fact an evolutionary thing. Neanderthal women were larger and required more calories, it was an inefficient division of labor. Human men specializing in hunting and human women specializing in less demanding task gave our kind a leg up over the Neanderthals. No surprise, in Europe, where this greater evolutionary pressure existed, the height and size difference between men and women is more pronounced.

Finally, for the 5x time, I'm here because I have and probably will date white women in the future, and I posted in this thread because I do feel guilty about my own preference for white women


PS. A theory is much different than opinion or idea, a scientific theory (like the origin of white people or the theory of relativity) has actual experimental or observational evidence to back it up. The origin of white people is not some hypothesis (idea) that I'm throwing out there.

Well, again, the media is trying to promote BW/WM dating, yet bringing BM down as a catalyst for doing so. BW are dating WM, although, a lot BW aren't interested in dating WM and a lot of WM tend to be interested in Asian women. I love seeing IR on all sides, so it would be nice if it happened more with a lot of the couplings, then the hate for intermixing could maybe start to cease somewhat.

Guilt is guilt however way you serve it, but of course you're not guilty cause you're not a BM. C'mon now! Who are you fooling?

Well, obviously you didn't share what else he said or maybe you didn't disclose your true feelings about BM being with WW, if not, you wouldn't have walked away with some Kumbaya sentiment and just a sprinkle about the media and it's promotion of IR.
