Apparently Morgan is worth a lot more than people know. I saw a profile/interview they did on Morgan here in the UK a while ago. It may have been on BBC 4. Apparently he owns a number of properties amongst other investments. He talked about the stigma of being poor and black in the 'deep south'. And how this drove him to want to be rich, even if he couldn't escape racism. The doc estimated his wealth to be about $400m, which at the time I thought was ridiculous. But someone of Morgan's age doesn't spend a lot on Bentleys, Ferraris and bling. So it's not beyond reason that he would have some serious money.
Also he owns his own film production company, which has invested in a lot of his successful movies. He doesn't earn a lot as an actor compared to say Will Smith or Denzel. But he makes up for it by being a producer on his own films and property investor.

Your right she probably won't get $400m. At the end of the day tabloids need to grab our attention and '$400m divorce settlement' gets more people talking than $50m (or less). Like I said nobody really knows how much Morgan has, but from his own admission in the BBC doc that I saw a while ago it's a lot more than people think. I bet he'll try and down play this now that he is splitting from his wife. If he's shrewd and has good lawyers a chunk of this will be hidden or tied up in investments. His wife will still walk away with millions.

I did not know that Memphis geezer is got that kind of paper. I know he is solid and respectable actor and all but he is not commanding 20-30 mil per picture. Didnt he start working in decent profitable commercial movies with Driving miss dasiy, so the numbers doesnt add up, he cant be that rich, giving 400 mill to ex-wife and so on.
