How Come There Are So Few White Women In Black Men Magazines?

Lets say you are correct (and I heard of this 20% number as well, but no source) that means 80% of Black Men still marry Black Women, over any other option and most of those Black Men prefer Black women.

Having said that I appreciate your entrepreneurial zeal. I hope you are right, I want to be wrong on this issue.

 

Sure no problem. I never claim facts without sources, but I am a bit surprise this information isn't more well known, when it was released, it was spread to all the news station except Fox (go figure lol.)

Also, the 92.7 percent ordeal is also rather old.

So that would mean including all the marriages of older time, 87% of black men has a black spouse.

Well the comic is still in the process, but it's called Evolved. We have an ashcan right now but the comic is going to first be established online to help gain a fan base. But we are going to release our first issue for sale at the upcoming San Diego Comic Con. We already have a booth. But by than, online we should already be at issue 3 or more.

 

But much of the 80% has a lot of factors to begin with. For example, Black Men, while already increasing drastically in non black spouses, are shown to be in interracial marriages more when they are in a diverse community. But since the majority of black men stay in black communities, it's understandable that their preferential spouse would be black women, after all they aren't going to go all the way to a non black neighborhood just to find a white wife.

With that said, the key notion to keep in mind here is this is talking about marriages, not romantic relationships, which of course would be much more. To put it into perspective, while black men marriages have been increasing with non black women, marriages as a whole has been dropping. Meaning the gap between interracial marriages and interracial romantic relationships most likely is huge.

So with that said, even if someone has a preference towards a specific race, being their own or another, that doesn't mean they aren't attracted to other women. Many of the men here still like black women even though this is a white women black men website. Therefore, it would be logical for the reverse to happen as well. That's not to say that there isn't black men who do not like white women, or vice versa. It's just that if we go by interest, white women would appear to be the preferred alternative to black women when it comes to marriages, thus it would make more sense to have white women in black men magazines over say hispanic women.


But thanks, I'm already trying to think of ideals on how I can make this happen. If done right, IMO, it could be a huge success, and I'm pretty much certain now I'm going to make a magazine. How does the title IR sound? Just that?

 

"IR" sounds fine. I think it would be great to see a variety of new cutting mags for Black men. I was a loyal subscriber to Code magazine when it was around. It was a great alternative for me from all of the hip hop, b-boy mags at the time. The journalism was top notch, pictures, everything
but, it had a downfall because the editors did not want to be accused of objectifying women (it was published by Larry Flynt so they where hypersensitive), so the magazine did not have a lot of women of any color, let me clarify that, white women did not exist basically. It actually frustrated me because it was for Black men and yet it sought to appease Black women.

Kind of like everything else. Like I said I hope it works. I will try to be optimistic.

 

I consider Show magazine a black one..they have plenty of white women..they even have a white only title. And plenty of the other black male magazines have white women here and there(especially coco-can't stand her!)faaaaaaar more than any of the white magazines have black women.

Can't always say that these guys are trying to appease black women. Could mostly be the case, but sometimes the people in charge are only interested in black women... that 'positive' pro-black stuff.

 

Wouldn't it make sense to just start our own Black Men's Magazine featuring ONLY White Women?:smt102

JJ4WP, If you look beyond this website catering to black men who loves white women and visa versa the majority of black men in America still have no interest in interracial relationships. Black magazines that depict the white women you listed in your post would have to be porn magazines and you may have to talk with the editor in chief about putting non black women in any future issues.

As for interracial magazines featuring black and white relationships, I don't believe even in this day and age it would sell on its own.

 

It is not about white or black but about money. If your buyers like a certain type of woman then you are going to put that on the mag. supply and demand 101.

Most black men's first example of womankind is a black woman(mother) so it comes to no surprise that they would prefer a black woman. After more interaction with the universe, it may change.

I am certain that putting more white women on the cover would drive down sales especially since most of the magazines are owned by white people. It would be real easy to stick white women on there and yet it is not done. Profit may have something to do with it.
