Lol, I can see like chasing the guy for a bit and letting ppl know the license plate and all that shit, but fuck, you can't just shoot at someone unless they are a serious immediate threat to someone's safety, like holding a gun themselves and refusing to put it down or somethin.

Hope his career will be fucked. He's a nutcase.

    interesting

for some odd reason, I was reading debates about police officers, going into the force straight out of the Marines or Army, versus police officers coming from colleges. Many police forces pay you more for an associates or bachelors, and have even made it mandatory that you have a 2year degree or 60 credits.

With all of these premature shootings and rough housing in the news, you kinda see why law enforcement is putting an emphasis on college education. Gotta think with your head as well be able to shoot straight.

not saying that all college-educated officers are more deliberate in their actions...

just trying to highlight the fact that there is more to police work, than rock-em, sock-em attitude.

im more than sure there are great cops, that dont resort to unnecessary force, that did not go to college

As a cop, a gun is still a privilage, jis because you have one doesn't give you the right to pop it off when e ver you feel like it. I say as punishment, theyy set him loose in an desolate area with car and just start firing on his ass...he put unnecessarilly put civilians lives at stake...b!tch.

Power-trippin', unstable Jethro's have business being cops! They are the ones that make so many dislike/distrust law enforcement, because the badge & the gun tends to go to their heads. Cops like that think they can do what they want & get away with it.

Maybe this fool grew up watching "The Dukes of Hazzard" & thinks that's what officers are supposed to be like. :smt102

you need to embrace your authority and not be a pussy....when the situation requires it..because you're going toe to toe with hardened criminals at times

I guess some people have a harder time finding that 'off' switch, than others.

This is true. The officers that worry me are the ones who abuse that authority, because their attitude is that they're above the law they're supposed to be upholding. I've seen some crazy things happen with the local police here even with my own family (due to a couple of my younger brothers). Since they got themselves in trouble, the rest of the family has been treated like they're gulity by association. It's frustrating.

Thankfully for my son & myself, I have a good rapport with the local police through my stores (where they buy their fuel & drink coffee). Before when they knew who I was related to rather than who I was, they gave me a hard time. But now that they know me, I don't get anymore crap.

I respect what you guys do. I wouldn't want your job, because life is dangerous enough as it is.

I don't do it currently, but I'm actually considering law enforcement as a career change (city funding is pretty shitty right now, so academy classes have been put off). Put some of my size and strength to good use and all that stuff. But....I have been hearing (from cops) about the negativity they receive within their respective communities. Something you get as a wake-up call, so you don't regret choosing it later down the road. I'm not a kid tho, so I kinda know what to expect, especially seeing what some people write here. But with every bad cop story, there is a good one to go along with it.

I guess I sort of see this the other way around.

I looked like the guy backed into the police car and then sped off. It is not uncommon for people, fleeing from the Police, to use their car as weapons. He backed into the car, and then took off.

...of course I used to be a Police officer to maybe I am biased.

It's not common for cops to juiced-up on steroids or macho ass bullshit.

The pig was wrong as hell.

Nobody used their car as a weapon, mofo.

so you would fire at them several times after they tapped your car like that?

Even the police department doesn't buy it so it isn't because you were a cop.
