Ben Harper Blindsides Laura Dern with Divorce

Harper, a two-time Grammy winner, filed legal docs citing irreconcilable differences and is asking the judge to deny Dern spousal support.

And here's what's interesting … according to the papers, Harper claims he and Dern separated back in January. But people connected with the couple, who married back in 2005, tell TMZ they have been living and traveling together throughout the year and were even intimate as recently as last week.

Harper is asking for joint legal and physical custody of the couple's two kids: Ellery, 9, and Jaya, 5.

If the temptation is that strong, IMO he's doing himself and Laura a favor by splitting up.

 

Wasn't he was married and his first wife was pregnant when he and Laura Dern got together. His first child with Laura and his child with his other wife were born a couple months apart. He may have issues with being married. I am sure in his profession women make themselves available.

Seeing articles like this...baffles me because we still need to realize that these kinds of relationships are generally the least accepted out of all interracial couple due to bad stereotypes.

It’s a pity when we see couples splitting up especially when there are children involved! It’s really funny for them to be claiming that they’ve been separated since January if they were together till recently! Just goes to show to what extent people will go to, to get their way – my heart goes out to the kids!!
