I used to be more of a ambivert, but now Im a ISTP (a kind of introvert) personality type for the most part. What kind of personality type do you have, and has it changed at all?

I function off of comfort, so I'll say I'm an ambivert too....

  3. I am such an introvert. I love being alone and I don't really like social situations. Unless I know the majority of the people. Yet in work I am extremely extroverted. I know everybody, love talking to anyone and everyone, and am confident and outgoing. My work friends would not have a clue I dread social situations!

    I'm a lot like justanotherbrotherlover.

I'm really extroverted with my friends and at work, but I'd prefer to sit at home and be left alone when I'm not there. Occasionally, I do entertain, because I like to have the people I enjoy around me, but it's pretty rare.

I assume the OP is refering to the Myer Briggs personality type.
Myer drew on Jungian typological theories....There, extrovert and introvert isnt refering to what we think but rather refers to:

Extraverts are action oriented, while introverts are thought oriented.
Extraverts seek breadth of knowledge and influence, while introverts seek depth of knowledge and influence.
Extraverts often prefer more frequent interaction, while introverts prefer more substantial interaction.
Extraverts recharge and get their energy from spending time with people, while introverts recharge and get their energy from spending time alone.

    Im an INTJ mostly.
I call myself a social loner:)
I like being around people and I never sit in a corner if Im our or at a party, I mingle and partake actively.
But I MUST have my cave time or I go nuts.
People drain me so I need to be alone to charge my batteries.
(note, you can be alone with someone in the room, if they let you be for a while).

    I'm an ambivert.

I've told people I was shy and they'd say, no you aren't.

I'm a loner for the most part.

And in social situations, if I don't know many people, I'm usually very quiet and fade into the background, unless there are people there who make me feel instantly comfortable. If not, it takes me a LONG TIME to warm up to strange people and talk to them.

But when I'm around people I know, I'm very extroverted (which I think would be the case with most people).

I'm a loud background type of guy, if you pay attention you'll definitely fel my presence. I'm like a solid navy painted wall, it's not the boldest color, but you can definitely feel int's impact when you walk into the room, where some extro's may miss that color.

Hmm, if I had to pick I guess I would be more of an introvert. Though back in my undergrad days I felt more like Batman at the end of Dark Knight...

How lovely. Just the kind that I would become very aware of all night, but never let you know.

    Primarily ISTJ
Quiet, serious, earn success by thoroughness and dependability. Practical, matter-of-fact, realistic, and responsible. Decide logically what should be done and work toward it steadily, regardless of distractions. Take pleasure in making everything orderly and organized – their work, their home, their life. Value traditions and loyalty.

I am responsible, disciplined and principled. I deal with issues deliberately, but methodically. I am protective of my company, family and privacy and I take my relationships very seriously.

hmmm...well i'm painfully shy and going any place where there will be a lot of people or a new situation makes me feel horribly ill. at the same time i'm extremely loud and outgoing...usually the life of the party. i refuse to allow my fear take control of me so i do the reverse and put myself in situations that will make me uncomfortable. i'm also a huge lover of my own time and space...especially after the divorce.

    This.

Hanging with my friends, one could never tell I was one. I'm the wild one in the group. I'm the one who will throw on Rick James at my friend's house and start dancing.

All this is funny because it sounds like if we were all in a room together it would be quite lol We would have to bring keyboards in and pretend we were in chat lol
