Tarshi, I'm sorry that happened. What a tosspot.

I would have to agree with Jaisee on this. The fact that he waited until the day of to say he didn't have money, then suggest you could just get together and have sex and then get a bit pissy with you by saying "why couldn't YOU come up with that earlier", says a lot about him.

It sounds like he's taking the easy road out and like the others said, he could have said, sorry, I don't have any money, but let's meet for coffee (I'm sure he could have footed the bill for that) instead and we'll do a proper date later. The fact that he couldn't come up with an alternative says a lot.

However, you know this guy and you need to follow your gut. If your gut says this was just a fluke and meeting him for lunch won't be too much of a big deal, then go for it. But if your gut is throwing up a big old CAUTION sign to you, then follow your gut.
