I knew the show was going to be shit before I saw it. Boris can't do a lead a period. He's good for the occasional eye candy for the women and that's it. When I look at dude I don't see bad ass, I see pretty boy trying to be bad ass and that never looks good on black men. That's total white guy appeal. If they wanted a black dude who could have done swav bad ass they would need a black guy with an accent like the guy from Obsession with Ali Larter who was in the wire. I honestly don't think America can't see bm with ww its the storylines they choose. Its always stupid and not believeable because they always pick guys who are known for hood movies/shows who don't know how to crossover well. Will Smith could carry an IR scene if they wrote it well. Same thing with a slew of other actors but Boris sucks as an actor. Name one film where he did anything more than be eye candy.
NBC makes ridiculous picks, like the spy show with Christian Slater last year or the reboot of Knight Rider or the reboot of the Bionic Woman, all shows I was excited to see, all written horribly. It seems like they put all their weight behind sitcoms like 30 Rock and the Office while ABC can make great dramas like Lost and Grey's Anatomy.
They just have out of touch incompitent people working there and that's why shows suck. The Black Donahues was another show that could have been amazing that they ruined as well as the Event. Fox made it work with a Black President on 24 shit I almost cried when David Palmer got killed on the show, that's what a good actor does he makes you connect but NBC sticks us with black guys who can't act like the guy paired up with Ali Larter on Heroes, fucking horrible.

Enough of the Idris Elba overkill. He's rapidly becoming overexposed.

Also the pretty boy as bad ass works fine enoug for Shemar Moore whom women of all races can't get enough of. Truth is there needs to be more "pretty boy" black actors getting roles because taht type of sex appeal translates and helps put viewers in seats. Every other male race gets represented by so-called pretty boys. But black dudes have a problem with the idea of such guys representing black men. I don't know where that comes from. Probably gangsta rap.

Black men are either represented by hardened thug rappers or the likes of Kenan Thompson and Anthony Anderson.

I think you misunderstood me. I meant dudes who could act too that women would like. At least a lot of the white heart throbs are really good actors. Brad Pitt George Clooney Patrick Dempsey and Matt Damon are of that pretty boy ilk but can act their asses off. Boris can not act, he's horrible so its not always a race thing they just need better stories and way better casting.

I like the show. I think it's fun. I don't think it's trying to pretend to be something it's not.
