Its because we no longer produce anything in the states. All of our production is outsourced.

The only thing we produce now is money out of thin air!

The following are 15 shocking poverty statistics that are skyrocketing as the American middle class continues to be slowly wiped out....

#1 Approximately 45 million Americans were living in poverty in 2009.

#2 According to the Associated Press, experts believe that 2009 saw the largest single year increase in the U.S. poverty rate since the U.S. government began calculating poverty figures back in 1959.

#3 The U.S. poverty rate is now the third worst among the developed nations tracked by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development.

#4 According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, on a year-over-year basis, household participation in the food stamp program has increased 20.28%.

#5 The number of Americans on food stamps surpassed 41 million for the first time ever in June.

#6 As of June, the number of Americans on food stamps had set a new all-time record for 19 consecutive months.

#7 One out of every six Americans is now being served by at least one government anti-poverty program.

#8 More than 50 million Americans are now on Medicaid, the U.S. government health care program designed principally to help the poor.

#9 One out of every seven mortgages in the United States was either delinquent or in foreclosure during the first quarter of 2010.

#10 Nearly 10 million Americans now receive unemployment insurance, which is almost four times as many as were receiving it in 2007.

#11 The number of Americans receiving long-term unemployment benefits has risen over 60 percent in just the past year.

#12 According to one recent survey, 28% of all U.S. households have at least one member that is looking for a full-time job.

#13 Nationwide, bankruptcy filings rose 20 percent in the 12 month period ending June 30th.

#14 More than 25 percent of all Americans now have a credit score below 599.

#15 One out of every five children in the United States is now living in poverty.

yea, we are not doing to good.

When I sit back and see the rotten job our education system is in producing the people who have the brains, insight and ability to create new ideas, industries and technologies needed to empower the economy for the 21st century. I'm more concern than ever that what we are seeing is the slow death of this country as we have known it. While Brazil, China, India and others are educating their workforces for the new technologies and industries of the future we still are debating about how to do it. The rest of the world is passing the United States behind and many here do not care. Expect more job declines as the jobs of the future continue to move offshore where the labor is highly educated, cheap and reliable than the increasingly lazy americans who want goodies for nothing. We will reap what we sow.

I may not agree with everything Pres. Obama has done but, in fairness he has tried to encourage Americans to focus on cutting edge technology and productive industry. Too bad he will likely be a one and done. Partly because he did not talk up jobs, a President cannot make jobs of course. I think Pres. Palin will put the last nail in the coffin of my beloved nation! She will go back to massive deregulation in finance, cut taxes for the wealthy again (who spend their money on luxury items...we do not make luxury items in the U.S.!) The Reagan/Bush/W.Bush economic trickle down never trickled down, it spread horizontal to other wealthy people! That is why the gap between the haves and haves not has grown even during the deepest recession ever. We are screwed.

It might *not* be the CHIEF reason that WE decided to expatriate..

But it IS *more* than HALF of the reason..

I hate to think of what the situation might be like even...FIVE years from now..

Now's a good time to focus our attention to a new telly series that, whilst being a parody of sorts & satirical in tone, it nonetheless brings to our attention...the DIRE situation of The Stateside Job Market Pool dwindling more and more in favour of overseas fiefdoms' gain...
