Why Do People Become Atheists?

When you're on your death bed, "see the light"(not THAT light, you still need a few minutes so you can skim some bible verses) and convert to Christianity, so you can slip into heaven before you die.





If it doesn't work, at least you tried.

That's my plan. I've got several years of church under my belt. I can redeem those tokens to get to heaven if I ever want to convert back.

 

Interesting outlook. I'd like to think we've always been aware of everything but forgot stuff as time went on. Do you remember anything from being 18 months old? Probably not but you existed you were here. So maybe death is just another transition.

 

Actually I do. I recall I had the flu, and one of our kittens died, and I remember the house I lived in at the time it happened and what it looked like, but I believe those are my absolute earliest conscious memories and I was right at a year and half old.

True. I used to believe because I was told to believe. The more I came to stop being a lazy non-thinker and actually think for myself, the more I realized that I was just reading one huge, boring graphic novel. At least it got kinda exciting in the end.

Hating on who? You? Who are you? It's about what it means for a forum to have good moderators. Nobody said they had to "jack off" while others post - but I didn't think a good moderator would use their position to do favors. Different values - I suppose.

 

Everyone is allowed to give rep, so she's not using her position to give favors. She's using her 'membership' to do that. Using her position, would be like deleting your posts because she didn't like them, but always leaving up Andraes, even tho his were just as inflammatory.

 

Well I'm not sure who calls me "fag" and neg reps me everytime I disagree with andrae - don't really care either. But this place is one big clique - to be sure. I don't believe I can refer this site to a friend...
