Gansta rap started in 86. It's peak was the early 90 to mid 90s. If gangsta rap killed R&B, it would've been more than 12 years ago.
It isn't just rhythm and blues, but African-American music in general that's been on a steady decline since the 1970s. African-Americans were, by far, the greatest musicians of the last century. No other community between 1900-2000 came close to producing musical figures like Duke Ellington, Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughn, Miles Davis, James Brown, Aretha Franklin, Charlie Parker, John Coltrane, Jimi Hendrix, Marvin Gaye, Prince, Stevie Wonder, etc. A unbelievable amount of talent that arose from only 10-12% of the U.S. population! I think that marketing through music videos and how it has increased the importance of visual presentation over musical quality has lowered aesthetic standards across the board. The audience will let a singer pass if he or she has the "right look" or works with a fashionable producer. Let it be noted that prior to African-Americans, Germany produced the world's greatest musicians through almost two centuries, but they haven't reached those artistic heights for quite some time. All good things . . .
The thing Ive always found funny about fans of entertainers (I hate when niggas like waka flocka and gucci etc call themselves artists or musicians, artists and musicians care about there craft and dont lower there quality of music for $$$ waka=entertainer talib kweli=artist) that only talk about money and cars is there essentially listening to someone rap/sing about spending there (the fans) money. If I wanted to listen to someone talk about spending my money I would talk to myself while buying shit. When I listen to music I want to feel something and aint nobody fo real fo real dropping shit that I can honestly say moves me.
Truth. Blacks have created so many different kinds of music. Funny thing is, in the early 1900s, as much as blacks were hated, their music was loved.
I kid and joke but I never put a hand on a woman some inequalities are just biological yet this guy is still on the scene, dropping songs like nothing happened... smdh...i guess sistas really do support us, even when we've hit our lowest point
Beating on her like what?? The woman she beat up at the airport looked worse than what Brown did to her.
Makes you wonder if the wurd on the street was the real! It has been told that she whet bananas when she saw the text messages. She threw this keys to Lambo in the street then bit him (serious teeth marks) and scratched his grill. Now I don't condone what he did but I understand! He just needed to roll out. I still think they are going to get back together one day...
She threw his keys into the darkness...scratched him in the face...and bit him...but SHE'S the victim.
you know what...if I was in danger of being mauled or maimed by a woman, i'd hit her too......but with an open palm, lol. Unless she was a hoodrat and knew how to box...fuck that shit. Them joints you gotta bob n' weave and throw hooks...im talkin from experience lol
Throw my keys, I'm getting mad. Scratching me, you're getting popped. Biting me, you're getting more stitches than me if I need any. I'm not getting more shots because some rowdy bitch bit me.
