i kinda understand what your saying ....i haven't yet read your said controversial post but my very first thread that i ever made i got e-yelled at ....now i kinda dont feel to welcomed here i think they said i was suspect

 

Knowledge and entertainment is not something to leave out. But I am wondering if it's enough to keep you entertained forever?

How can you cope with sharing your feelings with people you don't know?

By talking with them time and time again, I am thinking there will be some sort of emotional attachments with people who are closer to your way of thinking???

If coming back over and over again you will build a history of some sort with these people and still it will feel like a cards castle ready to fall at the blink of an eye.

I am thinking that the reason people leave at one point is because as humans we feel the need to escalate from the entertainment form to a more serious level.

Think of the dating process. You meet someone, it is entertaining, then you go out on a few dates, then you start liking him/her, then you probably fell inlove and want more.

The thing about this forum is that you subscribe, you post a few coments and get some feedback in return, it's entertaining and fun and you start liking the people, but there is no happy ending to this story because there is no next step and this love affair stops here.

No kidding! It's an online forum, people say what they like, deal with it. Jeez, what is with all the sensitive, whiny ass people lately... never mind that's rhetorical I actually know what their issue is since they tend to follow a very similar, and quite easily detected pattern.

As LA said, not everyone has something to accomplish by being here. In fact the people with the most set agendas tend to be the trolls. I think perhaps part of the reason you feel that you didn't get the reception you wanted is because you seem to have a talent for stating things in such a manner as to elicit a less than pleasant response. Whether that is intentional or not, I don't yet know.

For instance asking people to clarify for you why they are here so you'll 'have a reason to stay', is complete crap. Whether I happen to have a reason for being here or not is really just none of your business, and it's certainly not up to the other members here to entice you to stay. You want to leave, don't let the door hit you on the ass on your way out. You either enjoy the site, or you don't, and why anyone else is here, or needing to figure out if people have motives or not really shouldn't have anything to do with that.

If you want to stick around, I'd recommend reading older posts, it really will give you a better idea of people's personalities. You'll see who tends to be sarcastic, who states things very literally, who never takes anything seriously, and those who take everything seriously. That also gives you a better idea of how the people with alternate agendas present themselves and you'll start to see some obvious patterns there. I read posts for probably a couple months before I joined, and I feel it was helpful, so just a suggestion for you.

 

You're welcome here. You'll find that a lot of posters are just overly paranoid of trolls. Frankly, I think we'd be better served just being more accommodating to new posters and allow them the opportunity to show their true intentions over time.

 

oh, and in regard to the thread title. I don't know who is poisoning the water, but if you're looking to find who pee'd in it... well.,.. guilty as charged.

Also, I never think about the future of a forum and what will keep me here. It's not a job, so I'm not gonna worry about what'll keep me here. If a site gets boring, I leave.

No Jordan. I posted a controversial reply because there is nothing new coming out from a topic we all agree upon the way it is. I specifically posted that way so i can see how people think, and get to respect them for who they are and learn from the opinions different then mine. I was not expected to be shot at, called a racist and be told that should leave black men alone because i set high standards for myself and my men without even being asked why i said what i said.

I can feel your pain beautiful. It's not an easy thing to be a target, but i'll tell you what: The strength of a people character is not measured by how many times they fall, is measured by how many time they rise after they are falling.

All i can say is that i am not, nor will i ever be one of the bullies to pick on or criticize someone for having the courage to speak their mind.
