But not only do they know the 'law,' they're also aware of past rulings in similar cases, and things of that nature, which can be brought up in a trial. It is sort of a 'fairness' thing. How can people do one thing for someone, then flip the script and give you the banana up the tailpipe, because they're having a bad day.
