Again to be fair you did say you use to stick up for sistas which would imply all of them but stopped when you realized they weren't sticking up for you again it can be implied you were making a generalization.

So why did you stop being friends with those women?

That's very sweet of you to say. Thank you and welcome to this site. You've already proven that you'll be a good asset to this site.

I frequent all the popular Black blogs as well so I read what you read. It's definitely sad to see the venom that's being spewed, but on the flip-side, you have to laugh at the negativity and ignorance. I understand the hurt, but it's not helping the cause. It's unfortunate that the Sistas who can give a rats ass, are secure with themselves and don't hate on others, have to go down with the hating ones. Cause the hating ones are the vocal ones.

I can't sit up here and hate on BW cause I date BM. I know there are some that hate me automatically, but I've always had a lot of BW friends, so it's been more personal for me. My friends have been there for me, especially when I had man problems. We're there for one another. They support me and want to see me happy. I can't look at a whole race of women and go, you're my enemy. I take each person on a case by case basis and see what happens. I'm not naive to the hatred, but not every Sista has an agenda filled with hate.

well stated. there is one thing I never understood. I put up a vid with a bw/wm IR and they were talking about their relationship and people reacted with venom.

I was like dude they maybe bwwm but they are in the same boat as we are. the angels of problems maybe different but they are relatively the same...so why the anger ?

    Thank you...

I'm all for all IR and when I come across the counterparts of our union, I smile, but I also know that - like Kunoichi said, their union is more accepted than ours.

BTW, Kunoichi, my post wasn't towards you personally, just expounding on what you said.

its funny you stated that....Im hollering at this BW and she is a professor in psychology dept at a local college.

she was telling me that bw arent as venomous toward bwwm relationships because generally wm dont see bw pretty. i was replied they must have missed the memo when the women slaves were raped , david bowie marrying his black woman and rebert deniro being color struck by black women along with thicke and jon b.

but the thing she was trying to get over that bw feel they are no lovely looking and that ww are looked at the paradigm of beauty

BW & WW are pretty much in the same boat - that's why Oprah Winfrey's audiences are 90% WW. But BM & WM are not. Mathematically speaking, BWWM is not equal to WWBM. Why don't you realize this?

The media definitely isn't fair to BW, but notice how you said BW aren't as venomous towards BW/WM. Of course they're not going to hate on their fellow sisters. It's a whole different ballgame, cause BM aren't as vocal about their disapproval about BW being with WM as it's the other way around. Some BM do care, but a lot don't. I think it's also cause women are more emotional and men aren't.

what you dont get ....is that they face the same racism as we would BUT because of the man-woman relationship culture it is more frowned upon for bmww. get it

no doubt also the women have the most access to the media. look at black in america and tavis smiley's state of the union....they dog out BM with no let up..because BW spend the money.

If she had 2 bi racial daughters you best believe she wouldn't tell them to love BM.

    You best believe that.

Well, I don't think they have more media access, I just think they're more vocal about things.

Sorry if that was how you read it. I meant the ones who didn't have WW's backs in blogs, and I mentioned that. Naturally, if a sista - any sista - is cool with me, I'll do anything for her as I would my white sistas.

To be specific, there were certain women whom I noticed continuously spoke ill of WW in general, so when I observed the same women argue with a Black man, even though in the past I would have been inclined to jump in and defend her/them (I tend towards solidarity with women and have all my life) I stopped doing so. It wasn't about siding with the brotha either, since I was usually repulsed at the insults hurled to each other. For me, it was an issue of loyalty to the sexes. (I think the battles/misunderstandings of the sexes and roles we are expected to play bodes a deeper divide than race does, but I digress).
The catylist was if a black man typed to me nicely online, they would berate him as 'kissing my ass" but "talked shit to them", failing to acknowledge their own contribution to any bad blood between them.

As for my friends, the first I had in grade and High school and our lives drifted apart and I moved to the States. I have tried to find her on FB to no avail.

The other was the fiancee of my ex-husband's co worker..and to be honest, he didn't want her hanging with me after an incident. if you care to read on what happened do so, otherwise, this is the end of my reply to you ;)

    ****************************

The incident was we were denied entry to a private law enforcement club I frequented because the doorman didn't want "her kind there". ( I had 2 black g/f with me). I was so outraged, I wanted her to sue them and I contacted the Black police Civic League on her behalf. Apparently however, I did not understand the "can of worms" (her fiance used those words) I would open if she took on the Police force. In essence, he was afraid. I got upset that she was allowing him to control her, and slowly we drifted apart. In retrospect, I understand completely now his fear of their power and vengeful abilities to make their life hell....over something that may not be as a big deal anymore to them as it was to me at that time (I was such a greenhorn to the country). So there, you have it.

BW and WW are NOT in the same boat.

WW belong to a MALE dominant PATRIARCHY.

BW belong to a FEMALE dominant MATRIARCHY.

If anybody is in the "same boat" it's BM and WW.

oprah had a show on yesterday where about 20 some odd years ago a gay guy had aids jumped in a pool and the town closed the pool and ect...
so she went to the town (VA) and she had the dude (gay guy) there. the whole town just went into his ass. up to date the same people who berated him was there but he had died years earlier. they all stated that they were christians and what not and they felt bad for saying the things they stated.

one thing was often stated....I got caught up with the rest of the mob and went along with the attack...now Im sorry.....

    HHHMMMMM very common even online.
