Seriously, are you two talking about Espy? Because she was rather wonderful to the men on this thread, so attacking her as if she told you how to feel about anything is odd.

 

LOL nobody's attacking Espy, we love her. It's someone else I'm referring to. Ironically, Espy knows who it is, too.

i find them more romantic, more interested in the same social activities as i do, adventurous, sexy, great communicators, more positive about life, we share often the same taste in music, art, film, have many of the same values and worldview

 

i like them because they're usually so sweet and accepting, this is assuming you present yourself in a positive manner of course. You don't have to 'break down walls' nor do you need a bottle of aspirin just to get acquainted with them. And they tend to value things that i am into for the most part.

I know a black woman that has two sons by a white guy and she confidently tells everyone (not that anyone inquires of this info) that she is raising them to love and respect black women so that they would marry black women. When I first heard her I about pissed in my pants trying not to laugh out loud. Her hatred for black men is so transparent her sons are more likely to be gay or serial killers but, they will not like or love black women. I would bother educating her, but since she thinks all black men are good for nothing (like many black women proclaim) then she certainly would not have the humility to listen to me.

Whoa, I have to take all this in.

I have spent waaay too much time reading on predom balck blogs horrible things about WW and how BM really think about us, of course this was written by certain Black Women's perspectives, but nonetheless, it was a cold slap. I kept thinking, have I been delusional all these years - do Black men REALLY think this way about us...is this how my ex hubby felt, my ex boyfriends, their sisters and momma's, etc?? :-(

This was coupled with the realization, which I wasn't aware of having not grown up here, is that a lot of BW don't like WW. I started to change. Before, I would stick up for sistas, had their backs, but then I stopped and just stayed silent. Why have their backs, when they didn't have mine.

Then I find this site and read posts like these from BM. Strong, amazing minded BM. It's really heartening. I appreciate soo much that you acknowledge your attraction - aren't embarrassed or ashamed to tell the world, even in the face of hostility from many people. I think I fell in love with all of you! :smt058

Thank you for your post! I did the same thing for a while, looking on black internet blogs that attacked WW and any BM that was in public with them. It was depressing and frustrating I had to get away from it. I am a happy man by nature and I had so many good experiences with WW throughout my life that it bothered me with all the bigotry. I have already seen that people like them will come on this site as well and pretend to be black men but, I think I will stay here because there are beautiful, intelligent WW to share and communicate with. I love interacting with friendly WW! Black Men like me love women like you and Inner Beauty.

Well let's be fair the bw who say dumb shit about ww and bm are no more represenative of all bw than the bm who involve themselves in thug culture. But I'm glad to welcome you here sweetheart.

To be fair too, no one mentioned all. I stated certain Black Women's perspectives, and 'a lot of'.

It's the certain BW I have encountered on blogs. At first, I thought it was an anomaly, but the mentality appears to have grown and has become almost sheeple like. The consensus appears to be; BM+WW=terrible, BW + WM = approved.

My observations thus far find that the most segregated friendships seem to be American BW/WW. I think when deeply connected IR friendships occur, its usually due to work, or school. I don't think they are deliberately sought out, purely because culture dictates it. I have had 2 Black female friends, and looking back, one I definitely assimilated into her world, rather than the other way around. My experiences overall were positive. I still think about them to this day, wondering how their lives are.

 

good to meet you and her a very well thought out and internalized post. it is hurtful for people to say those things. remember people are just evil and there are people who are so loving a peace seeking.
