Andae, come on! He didn't mean physically fight, he meant do everything within your power, which is what any woman who loved you enough would do for you.

 

Unless I'm mistaken, I think what andrae is saying is that once he has that woman he shouldn't have to fight as he did to get her in the first place. Once that connection is established, the couple should be in a place where they can begin to relax and enjoy each other. If I comprehend correctly, I agree wholeheartedly.

 

Sure, but still neither party should get complacent. Just cos you're married doesn't mean you'll stay happily together without any effort. When I find the love of my life I will do everything in my power to keep them happy for as long as we're together. Or in other words, when the going gets tough, when you're presented with obstacles, don't give in, fight for the person you love!

 

I agree that it's a sweet statement metaphorically, but I'm with Andrae, the person who is yours wouldn't require fighting to keep. If someone belongs to you no one else could ever take them from you, & if they aren't truly yours no amount of fighting would keep them with you.

However, I am always impressed by the obvious love & committment Blacktiger expresses for his wife. It's very sweet & endearing.

I will say, fighting for someone who has made it very clear either by their actions or their words that they don't love you is the most fruitless pursuit on earth and one I will never engage in!

 

I think any relationship will encounter challenges, however that's when you work together to overcome. I don't think any circumstance would require you to fight to keep the other. Say your man loses his job for instance, clearly that's gonna be a challenge but he wouldn't need to worry about keeping me, if I love him that's not something he'd ever need to worry about, nor should he. I just can think of no instances where someone I loved would ever have to fight for me in any capacity.

 

Now thats a man right there. I am impressed.

I think people stay together because its the easier option. Its easier to stay with what you know even if its bad rather than face the unknown.
