I've only experienced extremes when it comes to parents so I prefer not to meet them and I hope I meet a woman who can respect that.

My mom doesn't care about me being with/marrying a BM any more than a WM. She'd disown me if I got with a "spic" or a "camel-jockey" though. :smt102

    Ow!

My parents (G.R.T.S.) had *no* qualms about it whatsoever....

I mean, they were an IR marriage, too...(Mum White, Dad Black)..

They kinda sorta couldn't have been any other way, eh?

My parent's weren't initially keen, but they've gotten over it now that I'm married and have children. They couldn't be happier for us.

No issues here. They only wouldn't like me going out with a Muslim, but I guess since that's not a race thing, it's not relevant for this topic.

i remember my mum was the same. had no problems with me being in a relationship with a black man, but had issues if the man i was dating was: maori, middle eastern or muslim. in the end it comes down to it being my life & my choice...no one can make me change my mind about who i'm attracted to or love and i'm certainly not going to live my life to make others happy.

true talk, fam. And I made em realize it and thankfully, they've come around.

oh no, i dont mind sharing. well, my parents are very traditional africans who believe very much in keeping the heritage alive. i mean, all of my siblings were born here in the united states but we've all lived back in africa at some point in our lives and the parents have always stressed bringing home a nigerian partner. so it stands to reason that when I introduced my hispanic wife (who was then my girlfriend), they werent exactly going to be on cloud nine. I knew ahead of time they'd flip because my elder brother is married to a white woman and they reacted similarly. in fact, the relationship between himself and my dad was strained a little bit, but not for long thankfully. that's mainly why my parents were uneasy about the whole thing. two of us guys have married non-black, non-african women so it made my parents initially skeptical but since we've settled down and had kids, they've been more than supportive. :D

My mother has met my Persian X, my Indian X, and my Cherokee X - never said a word.
I dont think she raised even an eyebrow when she met met my black X. He had dreads almost down to his waist at the time and that she did have an issue with however.

Im a product of her upbringing and I dont think it came as any surprise to her that I dated all over the map. But my mother is very cool.

So, you're saying you've sampled every race and ethnicity, can you break it down by tribes? LOL...I guess Cherokee is a tribe.
