THIS is how you treat a fella who gave you UNCONDITIONAL LOVE and DEVOTION?!?

It almost makes me NOT wanna set foot BACK in The States..

But I just got word of this from a pal on the East Side of the U.S. (The Eastern Suburb of Euclid in The Greater Cleveland area, to be exact)

A m8 that he knows, was an item with a Black gal I worked with (Her name was Yolandie) when I was Stateside. (They began seeing each other, and subnsequently moved in together, after she split the business in 2004).

Anyway, he had quite the good job indeed...pullin' down six fuckin' bills a year (Yep, a six-figure salary) for quite some time..

And then came the day when he was made redundant.

Yep, laid off. Another victim of the recession since July 2010.

Ennyroad, she was never told about the lay off...though he *did* still pull a paycheck as a day laborer..unbeknownst to her, as well....

All the while trying to keep up with the lifestyle SHE was accustomed to by taking out bank loans, bleeding his money market dry...even to the point where he was borrowing from one credit card to pay off another...

    All for her....

Then one day, one of those fellow Henhouse Gossip-type dames told her all about where SHE saw him...and it wasn't at the job that she *thought* he still had!

To make a long story short, when she got wind of where he actually was working...she borrowed her pal's car...and s-l-o-w-l-y coasted by the worksite he was currently at...

    As a picker-upper in a landfill...

    So, she *did* find out...

And she called him over his cellphone and told him..

How disgusted SHE was that HE.."with his broke-ass" couldn't make enough money "to keep her living the lifestyle she was used to and what she said she DESERVED...with that sorry-ass job "...

And when he came home...from the job..

He found all the locks of 'their' place changed....and the curtains drawn...with no way to get in..

And she apparently was gone from the homesteadf....as he couldn't get any answer at the door nor over the phone..

He went to a buddy's place to hang out, and figured he'd show up later on to try to contact her..

When he *did* return a few hours later....he saw that she had moved out...and took ALL of their belongings with her...HIS stuff as well as HERS to parts unknown.

Not even her Henhouse Gossip Pal was able...or willing to tell him where she went..

All because SHE didn't wanna stick by her man on account of his losing his high-paying job..

Just plain FUBAR it all is, to think that THIS sad, but true observation is STILL valid...now even more than ever..

    From:

    http://www.whitewomenblackmen.com/forum/showthread.php?t=12739&page=2

It's just -- well, just what I *SAID* -- FUBAR -- that it's like that in some (most?) instances.....

Guess I'd best prepare for Me & Mellisa getting the angry, hostile glares of hatred and disapproval from the Sistas when we *do* come to The States....:smt073

    Itz coming.....................................

You know this could happen to anyone in any country. You have to choose your spouse wisely.

    Maybe so, maybe no.....

But it *does* stand to reason that the % rate of incidents like *that* are considerably *greater* Stateside.....

    Sad, but true.

He did it to himself. No one told him to kill himself to maintain her ridiculous lifestyle. He was a coward and paid the price for it.

    Agreed.

The fella *was* a victim....of stupidity...*his own* as well as *hers*...not to mention her greed & avarice.

You won't see ME proclaiming that the fella was deserving of ANY sympathy, compassion, or pity..

There's room for a VERY tasteless joke 'bout her having some really UBER-SUPERB poontang (At least in HIS eyes) to make him stay as 'devoted' as he was...

But.....as Obi-Wan Keno'bi said in "STAR WARS IV (A New Hope)"...

Who's The MORE FOOLISH, The FOOL? Or The FOOL Who FOLLOWS Them?

    'Nuff Said!!!!

I don't think what he did was cowardly, as I don't think he didn't tell her about his change in circumstances because he was afraid of her, but rather because he thought she'd leave him. So I think he was just doing what he could to keep her around. Now it's certainly stupid to go to that extreme for someone who clearly doesn't love you, but rather loves your stuff and the security and comfort you can provide. I don't understand people that would go to such extremes to maintain a relationship that clearly isn't built on trust, honesty, or love. But then people in love do some stupid stuff.

I can see that he shouldn't have lied and went to such extremes to keep the truth from her. Had he just told her upfront she would likely have left and he'd have saved himself time and money. But she's the despicable one in this. It's clear that all he was to her was a means to an end. He was useful to achieve the lifestyle she desired and felt she deserved, and once he could no longer do that, she left and took everything with her. I truly don't understand people who think they deserve to live a certain way, the least they could do if they feel that way is provide what they deserve for themselves instead of expecting someone else to foot the bill. A relationship should be a partnership, if something happens that affects one partner, they should have the ability to share that with the other and the two can work out a solution. One person doing all the work, taking all the risk, while the other sits around on their ass making rules and reaping the benefits is not a partnership, that's more of a dictatorship.

She's a bitch no doubt, which has nothing to do with her skin color(!!), but he should have been upfront about his financial situation.

Not saying her reaction would have been different, but IMO you can never be afraid to lose a girl because you're being honest.

Better to know she's a true bitch when times are hard than deluding yourself that she's a 'special woman' only when times are good.

I agree. Most of the blame goes to him for not considering his own needs and emotions. If anybody (male or female) has a sucker on the hook, nine times out of ten they're probably going to take advantage of that person. This is just the world we live in.

Sounds like that relationship should have ended a long time ago. Clearly it didn't have much of a foundation. Without making any excuses for her behavior, seems to me he should have been honest with her about his work situation if he truly was devoted. Might have saved both of them a lot of time and trouble. Yep, probably should have ended a long time ago.

Every man should fake a financial crisis just to see who's in his corner.

This is the kind of shit that makes it almost impossible for good women to find a good dude. Well that and their bad boy obsession.

    the recession was/is no joke

i know my corporation has been making strides to run 'leaner and more efficiently' over the past years. We put a freeze on new hires (sorry grads), overtime, everything

things are getting better tho, as they have started to give annual raises again.

shit sometimes we had so many people, there wasnt really enough work to do

you'd have downtime out the ass lol...

that was all gravy until the companies started being hit with financial issues, like smaller profits

that shit went under a microscope big time and people started getting laid off... my job fired someone who was COLLECTING DISABILITY

    it was that bad
