I'm interested to see what can potentially happen with this.

I'm all for progression and new inventions.

I was thinking more on the lines of creating my very own army of white women genome soldiers using the DNA of pornstars and Playboy playmates.:smt045

I'm all for advances, but I think there are certain things that science shouldn't mess with.

I think there are too many "rogue" people out there that will take this and do very bad things with it.

I think science can go too far, and I think this is going too far.

    My personal opinion of course!

I read this a long time ago. This argument of if the tool is a threat or an aid is centuries old. First of all, it is primitive at best. Many people die of hiv and the rhino virus(common cold) everyday. This or other cells could be programmed to attack these viruses. This would be a good thing for humanity. Yes, someone can misuse it just like misusing fire or electricity or a rock. That hasn't stopped us from getting the advantages though. We simply need to regulate it.

And we all know how well THAT goes! :smt005

Government agencies can't be trusted. Nor can private agencies.

LOL. I sound like a conspiracy theorist. Trust no one. ;-)

When was the last outbreak of polio. The government does a good job of regulating. I mean we haven't used the nuclear bomb for how long now.

But how many scares have there been of that technology getting into the wrong hands?

How many people have been arrested for giving secrets to bad governments? And what's worse, how many people have NOT been found out for giving away secrets?

They say everyone has a price. Just sayin'.

I agree it is possible but I don't want people to get scared and stop something that could help save lives.

Agreed, regardless of the conspiracy theory sound!

It just creeps me out. All at once I see the potential for amazing, wonderful things that can help so many people....but also the potential for horrible things.

    It's scary. >.<
