He will play the half brother of Liam (a white character) and he will romance Liam's girlfriend Annie (Shinae Grimes) causin' some crazy DRAMAAA lol. Sounds great. I am such a big fan of this cat. He's one of the best young actors out there and this show will hopefully increase his shine and get his name out there and I am so proud that the people running the new 90210 will have not only one IR relationship (remember Dixon, 90210's black star, is dating blonde hottie Ivy already and season 3 picks up with them enjoying their summer vacay in Australia) but now TWO!!!! I can't wait! His character 'Charlie' makes his appearance in episode two of Season 3. The new season kicks off on the CW network on Monday September 13th, 2010, meaning Evan makes his debut the following week on the September 20th episode. I'm so glad I get to see our boy gettin his swirl on every Monday night on network TV! NICE!
P.S. it's funny cause he used to date (supposedly) rumer willis (bruce's daughter), who was/is a recurring character on 90210. wonder how they will interact on set lol...:smt102 evan and RUMER WILLIS leaving LAX nightclub in 2008 holding hands... but after that fling....he went BIG... evan in 2008 chillin wit BRITTANY SNOW Don't forget he also did a little movie called According to Greta with HILARY DUFF last year which got promoted so little, it didnt even go straight to DVD, it went straight to INTERNET lol (but i somehow found a way to download it and it was quite good though) screen shot from his indie film Gardens of the Night where he plays a druggie with a white girl problem, um i mean...cocaine problem lol...
He's going to slightly boost the shows ratings. I'm interested in seeing what happens with his character. I will tune in briefly.
Haha no kidding. But ummm good for Evan Ross I guess. I wont be tuning in to 90210 since I am an adult male.
Wow. Poor Evan. What has happened to his career if he's now doing 90210? You don't want to go from doing a lot of movie and being seen as an up and coming actor to doing primetime network TV. Especially if that network is the CW. You want to wait until you're in your 50s or 60s (perhaps mid 40s if you're a female) before you go from film to TV.
I disagree Jamal. TV is no setback, and I am in the film industry, I understand how this stuff works. This is the biggest break of his career. No one outside of die hard fans and people like us know who he is. 90210 will get him wide mainstream appeal and get him seen in households all across America on a weekly basis. If his performance is good he will become a hot new name on every casting agent's list to put in BIG movies. Other than ATL and that swimming movie he did with Terence Howard he has done no mainstream movies that got released in theaters. All his little indies have done nothing, been seen by no one, or gone straight to DVD. 90210 is actually, all things considered, his BIGGEST role yet. He will be seen by millions and millions, I promise you, thats way more people than the number who have seen his films. His film with Hilary Duff didnt even get released and he was going to star in The Warriors remake directed by Tony Scott (he directed denzel in flicks like crimson tide, man on fire, deja vu, and taking of pelham 123 and the upcoming denzel action flick Unstoppable). The Warriors has been put on hold indefinitely and now 90210 is Evan's chance to be seen. Dont bash TV. If I was an actor who was struggling to make it mainstream I'd rather be on a hit TV series than in small indies no one sees. It's all about being SEEN! Look at Kiefer Sutherland. He was c-list (at best) in the early 90's trying to make it as a movie star (and thats with the advantage of having a very famous father in Donald Sutherland in the business). But fast forward to 2001 and he gets the starring role in 24 and it makes him SUPER famous. Sometimes TV is the way to go. And long gone are the days where TV was the death nail for an actor. these days actors can go back and forth from small screen to big screen easily. James Franco is in big films like Spider Man and Milk then goes onto General Hospital, a soap opera for a few months, now he is shooting Rise of the Apes, big budget prequel to Planet of the Apes and he just finished filming 127 Hours where he plays a mountain climber who got stranded and had to amputate his own arm, based on a true story. There is major Oscar buzz for the part. Patrick Dempsey just shot Transformers 3 and now is going back to his TV duties for Grey's Anatomy...i rest my case...
I think this is because TV shows are getting bigger budgets and more attention (you can watch them on TV or over the internet on parent company sites now, which increases exposure). 24 is/was a blockbuster of a show (I loved it lol) that spanned many seasons and had content which rivaled a hollywood movie on all levels. I didn't know James Franco was on General Hospital tho. Last time I seen him was in Date Movie (2010), in which he had a small but funny role which sorta provided the basis of the film. Glad to see him return to the big screen.
yea and what sucks is the only two scripted TV shows I'm trying to catch this season are 90210 and House, both come on at the same time (Monday nights at 8pm) and not only that but my new job has me leaving work at around 8:20 on Monday nights (the only night we meet) so by the time I get home (which isnt far from my job) its still around 8:30 to 8:45. Causing me to miss most of the episodes. But thankfully on IMDb (and the websites of Fox and CW) you can watch full episodes so that will keep me up to speed :smt031
