lol what time was that exactly? I'm only 28 and I used to be called the n-word on a daily basis in grade school. It was usually followed by references to hangings and groups of white boys dippin' on me after school. Funny how the North can be more racist than the South. Shit some old head dropped the N-bomb on me, because I wouldn't spare him any change. That was my fault tho...I was walking around a late night bar, in a 'white' area. Makes you think twice about carrying some brass knuckles tho.

we're on the come-up here now (the public school system is mostly black now I think), but back in the 80s and 90s, shit was vicious in white neighborhoods. I had dudes taunt me with songs about jumping in, if they saw a black man winning a solo against some white guy. Every year at my school, I was one of the few blacks (i can count them on ONE hand) that was in my grade. The flak was relentless, but that was where I learned how to fight with my head, instead of my body (you're simply outnumbered). My ticket out was an education, and that's something they cant take from me. If I failed to get an education, then I think that is when the racists would have won.


But like I said, times are changing but you still got some old-guard, that'll call you a n**ger faster than you get a milkshake at McD's.

I was treated so poorly by my peers, and she was just giving me advice which was rock-solid at that time. Why in the hell would I go out with a white girl, when most of those broads were making fun of my nappy hair, big lips and shit like that? The situation was just too volatile. Plus you had the white guys to worry about. Racism was very palpable and physical then.

BUT, on the flip side, I had male white friends. Most of them never used the N-word around me, but a few would slip and that was that. It was okay to chill with the guys that accepted me (I had one that used to spot for me when I was out sick, bringing stuff to my home and letting me know what I missed). But the women...hell naw...u aint bringing no white joints up in here, lol.

but believing in progressive wisdom, id say that she wouldn't mind it now. She's had to raise a boy that dealt with racism daily, so no one can blame her for her past views. in about every online game I played online, I came across at least one person spouting racial hate into the mic. Shit, then you got the PC games where people are 'texting' hate messages, like in World of Warcraft among others. Ignore is a good feature, but they shouldnt be doing that shit period.
