I agree but I disagree. I agree that white folks shouldnt use it but BF shouldnt either because it is a word that was to psychologically destroy a person. Now we all know that the best way to get a person is thru the ears and enter the mind.

when that word is used it was to or suppose to mentally shackle a person. I cant see how using that word lovingly will not shackle a person.

If you think about it, what are white people complaining about? They're complaining that they can't use it. And, since they can't use it - they don't want anyone else to be able to use it either. Simply put, that is the N-word from the white man's perspective. dawg fan Mississippi

 

a guy who does a show called mack lessons radio said the samething. he basically stated to some extent that is why they are screaming their first amendment right is being taken away because they were accumstommed to saying the word and now that privilege has been taken away because of the repurcussions.

The real question is, why do some white folks want to use the word? You don't see brothas crying because we can't call mexicans 'esses'. Thats a mexican thing so let them do them. Come to think of it, its not just white folks, I had to check a lot of non-blacks (asians,latinos etc) about calling me a nikka smh.

That shit don't really fly down south, but brothas in the east coast let puerto ricans/latinos get a bit too comfortable with the word.:smt012

 

You've actually proved my point. I didn't say anything about the video. I posted in this thread because of the title. As an African-American, I have an honorary "PhD" in the n-word. Albeit, I'm sure that you believed it was worthwhile to view - and I respect that.

 

LOL. very excellent pt. I heard the samething from a dude name tariq nasheed and he talked about the history of the N-word. Im just gonna take his word for it that he understood the origins of it. Yet , his thing in the end that BF took and trivialized it but if they did then the word should die.In my opinion the issue is AA (blacks) should never use it for the psycological issues behind it.
