Be careful of the Taxis- they charge very differently.. last time I paid for the same way 70 and the way back 35 GBP.. to people from London.. is it a difference between that black and the mini Taxi (cars without any sign), or how is it??

 

Stay Away from the Black cabs if you can! They are soooo expensive.But they kind of have a monopoly in central London. You can find other taxi numbers in phone booths. Its a hassle though.

 

problem ive had with some taxi's in big citys is they take the worlds longest route cos ive no idea where i am or how to get where im going

the other thing to watch is if they say they are meterless and they charge by distance because that way youve no real idea of the jorney price till they announce it

if your going a fair distance ask them how much it will cost before you set off, if it seems a silly amount then walk off and find someone else

 

Summer camp never goes until the day before school starts, so my daughter was home all last week with my parents, my nephew and my brother from FL.

Yesterday, I was sitting in the living room reading, after I dropped my daughter off at her first day of school, and my brother comes out of his room and asks if she's at school today. I said, "yes, and I'm sure you're happy about that." He said, "not really. She's grown on me, despite my best efforts.".

My mom piped in and said that they've really taken a liking to each other.

Anyway, so last night, completely unprovoked, my brother asks my little one, "so how was your first day of school?"

I nearly fell over.

My little one does keep him honest, though. She'll bring him in from outside (he likes to sit on the patio and play his guitar) to push his chair in at the dining room table. :smt043

I can't believe the interest he has taken in her. He's always been so me, me, me. Ah, kids can melt anyone's heart!! :smt023

 

Getting ready to head back to school. Looking forward in taking two classes, "Numerical Control Machines and Automation" and "Quality Control". Going to be tough helping my wife and caring for my child, work, take school, and martial arts class. If women can do it through multitasking I can do it too.

 

Bookie I know your life isn't quite where you want it and you aren't living where you want to. Don't you wonder though if it isn't "part of the plan"? Maybe your daughter will have a relationship and closeness that she might not have with her relatives if you hadn't made a temporary home with them.

 

Yep, I think you're right. There seems to be a reason we're here. Like I always say, everything happens for a reason. I guess I should just go with the flow.
