Umm I do (as well as some others on here). Andrae seems like a cool dude that thinks rationally. You and flamer are the ones that cant handle the truth about anything. Excuse makers like yourself are very petty and weak people. Again, truth hurts homie;)

And that "nobody likes you" diss is so hilariously corny. Are you gonna call him a doo-doo head next?:smt043

Yeah, its definitely not the norm. Chi and Nikon are paranoid. Maybe their algebra teacher was a black Klans member (like that one Dave Chappelle skit) but that certainly isnt the norm like reggie suggested.

Like myself and others have mentioned on here, bottom line a lot of these kids need to take personal responsibilty. Instead of buying those overpriced Dr Dre headphones, save that money and open a bank account. Instead of getting fucked up on a school night, stay in and study. Self discipline goes a long way...believe me, I should know.

You dont have to lock yourself away in the library or your bedroom and study 24/7 to get good grades. You can still maintain a social life and maintain good grades.

Iggy come on now. You know the schoolboard has spies burning down houses the minute they see black kids reading at home.

Total Bull shit. What Haiti has endured has been because we didn't kiss ass. There is a direct letter from Thomas Jefferson telling Napleon not to let Haitian win the war. That's not kissing ass. There are several other black countries that got their independence and are running the country. Frankly Uncle Ruckus, you are the only one here talking shit about black people kissing ass. Looking to put down black people just for fun.

It's amazing how hard some people will fight to deny that Black people are equal.

The very idea that Black children might not be academically inferior, lazy alcoholics with poor judgement infuriates them.

I posted a good amount of sociological research about the resegregation of American schools a while back, but that couldn't have anything to do with it. Telling Black kindergarteners that they could aspire as high as a manager's job some day doesn't have anything to do with it. No, that's paranoid.

What's more rational is to decide that human beings that aren't even old enough to have the judgement to drink should have the judgement to study harder than everyone else and balance out the inequality themselves.

Oddly enough, the sociological research I linked to actually addresses this. African American students are constantly told that it is all up to them, that they can do it all -- but they are disproportionately not given the tools to achieve those goals so they develop self loathing that they then project onto others.

I've never seen the "just take it and work harder" method work. I've never met a millionaire who said that they got where they got by accepting unequal treatment. I doubt the very existence of a business tycoon who did not complain about receiving discrimination. I've met a lot of people in civil service jobs who have that attitude, however. It's an excellent, and historically proven, way of creating a class of people who will be satisfied with less so that others can have more.

In short, if we were attacked by aliens tomorrow, these assholes would be working hard to hop into pots and start basting themselves.

Well of course there are kids that are more privilaged that others. No one is denying that. A lot of kids are lucky sperms that are born into rich, well off families and definitely have more options. This just in, life isnt fair. Yeah it would be great if every person made a 6 figure salary but thats just not realistic.

But to put ALL the blame on America's public school system is a cop out. Again, personal responsibility goes a long way. And I disagree with you on the tip of "work harder". Like it or not, thats what a lot of kids need to face instead of just feeling sorry for themselves.

And another thing is the PARENTS. A lot of these black kids come from broken homes and recieve little discipline which in turn leads to the kids growing up stupid/ignorant with little to no respect for themselves or others. Its a vicious cycle

What's sad is a lot of people will cosign her position because its a lot easier to blame others than trying to find a solution. I'm actually going to read the book she posted because it seems interesting but no amount of theory is going to be a substitute for good old fashion hard work.

I absolutely love this theory. Not everyone can make a 6 figure salary, so Black students should just work with whatever they get. Life's not fair, not everyone is going to be born rich, so who needs books or desks or AP classes. Get to "handing out papers class"! We can't all be born rich! Somebody's gotta do the crap work.

Work harder and take whatever is given without complaint is a good message for raising excellent bus drivers.

You keep spouting the same nonsense that led to this problem. It's not that these kids aren't getting enough discipline. Do the research. Modern urban schools are imitating prisons. Children are given standardized tests at ages so young that they are reduced to crying and wetting their pants from the stress.

Why is it that every time the results of inequality are exposed, the answer is to be harder on Black people? The problem we are dealing with is too much discipline, but you keep asking for more. Maybe we should just cut out the middle man and start arresting Black newborns. Save us all the trouble of pretending to educate at all.
