America has a notorious history of xenophobia and racism and you would think a country that hates blacks and immigrants so much would never allow forgein black people to ever do well. They would be one in a million but that isn't the case, a large number come here and do better than black people that have been here for centuries. I don't ever want to make light of the instituional racism that deters and in some cases completely derails the advancement of black people but we have to stop complaining and start getting to work. I'm not saying it will be easy not by a long shot but it is doable. There were many who came before us who dealt with far more and came from less but manged to make a good life for themselves. We don't have Jim Crow we don't have slavery for the most part we are just unwilling to look out ourselves and see the real problem.

 

The 1st and 2nd generation African and Carribean immigrants do quite well..

I didn't disagree just disagree but because I didn't join the lame ass pity party I must have no point. I gave examples and clear concise on solutions to the problem but you'd rather whine and complain about shit that happened over a decade ago. Get the fuck over it and man up. If this were a clear caste system with absolutely no mobility like it was in India years ago then I would say you have a point but the fact others can come here and do well is a clear indicator that its not like that that.

Feel free to do whatever you like but I did address the problem thoroughly enough. The reasons that bm aren't graduationg from hs has more to do with them focusing on rapping and playing sports than it does a poor education. Most subjects are completely self taught. Its pure memorization and reguritation. Read what's assigned and spit it back out but the problem is the discpline to learn these subjects. Yes things like math and science take different cognitive skills but it still requires discipline. It requires a student to take read the material over and over again. I presume you're an educated man since you feel the need to point out that you think I'm not and educated person will tell you whatever they learned came more from the time they but into the work outside of the classroom. So yes the schools may be lacking but so are the students, they refuse to put time into their studies and whose fault is that. They would rather play video games than read whose fault is that? So if you want to fix the problem you are so incredibly passionate about start with yourself.
Volunteer at an after school program which I myself did for three years because I know there are kids who need extra help or find worksheets online and make summer work books for kids to get more practice but just don't sit there and bitch.

Well, fortunately public schools are getting the message. Many are finally becoming single sex. It's sad that it must come to this, but let's face it - our society is very dysfunctional. At least now young men will be able to focus on their school work.
